Yes -- last year was crazy. There were new trades announced even a couple of hours after the deadline. (ones that had just made the cutoff -- but weren't made public)

Pistons are going all-in on the playoffs this year, meaning their first round pick is likely going to be a mid first rounder. They're not sweating losing the pick. They just acquired Tobias Harris, and really they're going to be a dangerous out for any team in the playoffs.

I actually really like DMo. He's light on defense, but he's still 7 feet with a great offensive skillset. If he gets healthy he's going to be a nice alternative to when teams use the hack-a-Drummond.

Jackson, KCP, Morris, Harris and Drummond with Johnson, DMo, Thorton and Baynes is a really solid lineup.

Cavs got Channing Frye and gave up Anderson Verajo. Frye doesn't play great defense, but he's a 40% 3-pt. shooter. Preparing for that match up with Golden St. Not a bad trade for the Cavs.

i dunno....lets see what Frye does- if he doesnt help it will not be a good trade.....obviously a big man that can shoot like that has a spot....but varejao was a franchise mainstay....it does help to get his contract off the books next year though and should give them the flexibility to use that trade exception if they so wish.

Im pretty sure Varejao was the longest tenured Cleveland athlete by a fair margin.

the Cavs have 2 open roster spots now....thats curious to me....either thats for buy out guys or maybe another move is coming.

Well, Woj says Portlan'd likely going to waive Varejao. Meaning they're going to buy him out. I think Varejao has to wait about a month before he goes back to the Cavs. Cleveland got better today, can't fault the trade. You weren't going to get a stretch 4 that could play defense, but Frye helps you spread the floor for Lebron and Kyrie.

if there was a 1% chance that Love was getting dealt at the beginning of the day i would say its 2% now with a possible replacement- at least from a shooting perspective- and the fact the Cavs have 2 open roster spots....thats really surprising to me right now.
