FZ signed him in the first place. I have a hard time patting a guy on the back for kinda cleaning up his own mess.
Not me; full credit for admitting it isn't working out. It wasn't a bad signing at the time. It just turned out that Soler hit like a little bitch at Oracle. So, he dumps the salary. Good move and we pick up a mid tier prospect.

With the Giants history of trading non-OFers who end up playing OF for their new team, I am placing good money on Soler winning a GG next season.
The 40 is currently at 37 and the 26 is currently at 24.

I hope FZ has extra undies in his desk at the office, because that kind of flexibility has to be “exciting” for him.
Well, we know Luci and Bird are coming to the 26. There will be many dudes DFA'd today and tomorrow so FZ is likely salivating.

Yes.

”Saliva” is the bodily fluid he is producing.

Birdy was optioned on the 22nd. I don’t think he is eligible to be recalled yet (I don’t know if trades count as one of the exceptions)

LOL

according to MLB Trade Value (a site that assigns a dollar figure to ever player to help determine trades), the Giants fleeced the Braves.

Soler (-15M)
Jackson (-4.3M)

Matzek (-0.7M)
Ceballos (0.9M)

Of course nothing is absolute, but by these guys’ assessment, this was straight up sexual assault.

Cobb to Guardians
Baumann to Angels
Texas Interest in Conforto who never really had much of a hot streak here and word is he would be a platoon.

@tzill

Tentative on Cobb return on CBS trade tracker LHP Jacob Bresnahan, player to be named later.

Baumann was just a cash deal. Not certain which direction the cash flowed. I assume the Giants are eating some of his contract.

Cleveland is sending minor league lefty Jacob Bresnahan and a player to be named later to San Francisco in the swap
I know nothing about this kid…

But he looks like a decent lotto ticket.

I kinda hoped Cobb would get a start for us this year, just out of sentiment. But if we can swap that for a legit lotto ticket, I am AOK with that.

Soler makes room for Luci
Cobb makes room for Bird
Jax just needed to go.

No more moves unless it's Forto. They want to roll the final third of the season with Webb/Snell/Ray/Harry/Bird and see what happens.

Cobb was on the 60. His trade does not free any room anywhere.

SOLER AND JAX TO THE BRAVES!!

Sweet, sweet addition by subtraction
Soler will hit there and we'll wonder why we dealt him. But we do need the DH slot for guys like Luciano probably

Now bring me Holliday for Snell and Mozzicato for Chappy and a sack of baseballs for Forto.
Chapman isn't getting dealt, nor should he. He's literally one of the best 3B in baseball this year. In the NL only the Mets and maybe Phillies have a better one.
