With trading Birdman, we have Amare and Udonis Haslem left outside of Whiteside.

Yep.
Amare is the best of the bunch if he can stay healthy.
Bird didn't play much this season, but looked slow and old when he did.
Nothing much figured to happen and nothing much did.
Heat got under the tax threshold which is a win.
Now, we just wait for the Beasley announcement.

i gotta think the Cavs will pursue...

if no bosh, ya REALLY think Joe Johnson goes to the Heat just to get slaughtered? DOUBTFUL

If he wants to win , Cavs...,
But he loves Miami.
He's here quite a bit in the summer.

Nick Young thought the trade deadline was yesterday. Byron Scott: "I don't think Nick pays a whole lot of attention to current events."

I think there were actually a lot of win-win trades that happened:

Washington and Phoenix was a good trade for both. Washington got a guy they can plug in for Nene after he leaves in the off-season. A fresh start, with solid leaders in the locker room could do wonders for a guy as talented as Morris is. Phoenix got a 1st round draft pick, which is probably as best as they could hope for.

Cavs, Orlando & Portland:
-Portland acquires another pick, by just absorbing Varaejo's contract. With this trade they finally reach up to the NBA salary cap floor. Even with his contact on the books for next year, the Blazers still have a ton of cap space.
-Cavs get another big who can stretch the floor and it cost them next to nothing.
-Orlando got rid of Frye's contract and more cap space.

Memphis and Clippers:
-Memphis gets a first rounder for nothing. Stephenson is a non-guaranteed contract and will not be retained.
-Clippers get Jeff Green on a rental, for a guy who wasn't producing for them. Might help shore up their SF problem.

Pistons acquired Tobias Harris, Marcus Thorton and Donatas Motiejunas for Brandon Jennings, Ersan Ilyasova, Joel Anthony and a second round pick. That's pretty amazing. They are the big winners, IMO.
