At this point, if they don't move risto and Laughton I will be very disappointed, if we're doing the youth movement thing let's get em up and get acclimated.
It's possible they are not getting what they want right now in terms of trade demands for Risto and Laughts.

But, as the deadline gets closer and perhaps we see some injuries, I think we will get what we want.

I hope your right, I definitely know Edmonton is looking to beef up.their defense, not sure what position they are in as far as a trade goes, same with Toronto.

Risto if healthy is a goner for sure. I still have a feeling we are keeping Laughton as he only makes 3 million and is under that contract another year.

If that's true then it's a shame, Laughton has never been much more than a utility type player, but in reality he's a 3rd line center at best. I just want to see us get something decent in return for him, he's definitely not worth resigning when his current contract runs out.

A good third line center who is the leader of the team and locker room who only makes 3 million is a bargain. Im assuming that's why Danny B is thinking about keeping him.

Flyers tied with the Pens and Ducks for 6th best lottery odds based on points percentage. Utah and St Louis the other teams under .500.

Actually looks kind of promising to get out of this year with a top 10 pick. Top 5 might be a stretch though, barring a lottery win. Teams below them are real bad.
Top 10s don't really help if we look at history. It's top 5 or you don't get a game changer. You don't get a top line center. You don't get a defender that is worth keeping forever.

Just a shame to be rebuilding for 10 years and have nothing to build the team around. We still need top picks.

We already have 2025 EDM 1st rounder, so perhaps Flyers are asking for a 2026 1st and EDM is reulcutant to keep parting with 1st rounders.

Regardless, any and all interest should just help drive up the prices as the deadline gets closer.

Wasnt Nolan Patrick a top 5 pick?

Just to add to this

COL
MacKinnon - 1st
Makar - 4th
Rantanen - 10th

FLA
Tkachuk - 6th
Barkov - 2nd
Ekblad - 1st

EDM
McDavid - 1st
Draisatl - 3rd
Bouchard - 10th

Each have a 1.1. Another top 5 hit. And a top 10 hit.

We are generations from competing at this rate.

Oh I'm with you. I was just somewhat relieved to see they're looking at the 6-9 range instead of the 12-15 range like last year. Doesn't solve the problem exactly, but it's better!

And they haven't had their now customary and aforementioned 10 game losing streak yet this year. So maybe that gets them into the top 5!

Not only that ,I think we could do some wheeling and dealing and move up if need be.

Whenever you are re-building a sports franchise, there is a window of opportunity whereby you have to make choices and right decisions to accomplish the desired outcome which for the Flyers is a return to Lord Stanley's Cup. If the FO effs this thing up in the next two years or so, they are going to look like Hextall and WTFC AGAIN!!

We have to get lucky and hit big on a couple of draft picks. That would be the best thing to happen to us.

The big question is how do we get Couts to waive his no trade clause.

Cannot have this guy eating up almost 8 million for the next 5 years after this one.

This season we have seen Trouba waive his and JT Miller waive his.

That's for Danny B to work his magic. Maybe hell have to add a pick or a player or both to sweeten the pot so someone will take that contract on.

In Danny B we trust.

Getting rid of players is so much less important than adding players.

Fans do this little dance in every league.

There's no one to spend Couts' money on and you won't find a 1C for 8 million.
