It's not as exciting when your best prospects are 2 defensemen and a goalie.

Tough to argue that. My concern is Danny is not really deviating from what they did. Hang on to your better players (Giroux, TK, etc.), sell off your middle of the lineup guys, and try to build through mid 1st round picks.

Danny's got a leg up because Michkov is a much higher end prospect than Provorov in the 7 range. But in general, the process is still about the same.

Again if he just drafts better, or makes big splashes with the picks instead, then they at least get closer to building a cup contender. But I find it really hard to get excited about the plan still.

I personally think James Hagens is a generational player and if he drops to 3 i hope we trade up for him.
