I think we are treating this RBs like shark teeth. Lose one and another comes right behind it. We keep the pipeline going with mid or late round picks like McIntosh & Martinez, maybe an occasional earlier pick like Walker & Charbs. Walker is gone next year, Charbs moves into the top RB role (if it doesn't happen this year), the other guys move up 1 spot on the depth chart, and the cycle continues.

I like the idea of getting Walker in his contract year, so at this point I would be surprised if he's traded.

Agreed. JMR I can't remember if you were part of the discussion, but I think basically everyone here was like, "Look if you can get a 3rd or even 4th, trade him." But nobody is giving that up, especially with how good the draft capital was for RB. So might as well just keep him lol.

MAYBE he can be worth a mid season trade to a contender (although we might be that contender). Sad to see Walker go, but he just can't stay on the field reliably.

Yeah, dealing him may have made sense for a reasonable price. The run game on the whole has made a bit of a comeback the last couple seasons, but the market for individual players is still fairly tepid. What we may get from Walker during a contract year might be much greater than what was (or would have been) offered in a trade, so we are in an ok spot.

I agree...

And watch it be one of those things we trade him... and then Charb goes down, McIntosh re-aggravates his 2023 injury, and Martinez catches a bad flu...

I swear our luck with healthy runningbacks has been terrible the last several years. I still think Milroe is going to get some running action and certain plays. I think Seattle will absolutely line him up at QB (Mike has indicated that's his target position), but for more redzone or short yardage situations.

Should be fun watching Martinez and Milroe in preseason though.

It all depends on the cost. Letting Abe and Woolen walk creates 2 pretty big holes on the roster. You really want to avoid having to keep replacing starters every offseason.
It does but if Abe is only going to play half the games again - do you want to give him an extension?

I am shocked with the amount of hate you all throw at Woolen when he is our best cover corner on the team. CB are not supposed to make tackles on RB's thats not their job.

Hating is a bit extreme... I don't hate him... I'm not as high on him as obviously you are... Doesn't mean I hate him... And if we don't resign him, then that means someone else is not as high on him as you are... If we do resign him, then that means we want him to be part of what we're doing as an org... It's as simple as that...

Just because someone doesn't agree with Screamin12th, doesn't mean they're hating a player...

Woolen's coverage skills don't make up for how unwilling of a tackler he is. He isn't Deion or even close to being in that universe.

He doesn't fit what Mac says he wants the team to be, simple as that. It isn't about hate or any other emotion.

The thing is, he's been a really good coverage corner..

Stopping the passing game is the primary role of a corner. Replacing Woolen with a better run supporter who is a much poorer cover corner actually hurts our defense.

Our pass defense was demonstrably worse when Woolen was out last year.

Wasn't he benched in the middle of the season?

And if I am looking at this chart correctly, are you meaning to tell me Woolen was better than Sauce Gardner and Byron Murphy and Devon Witherspoon? Stuff like this can be interesting, but I don't know if it's useful without fail. Woolen is nowhere close to as good a player as Devon Witherspoon, and all you need is eyeballs to know that.

He was benched 2 seasons ago by Pete.

Sauce and Devon are better overall players. Better run defenders. Better zone defenders. But Woolen is absolutely a better man to man corner than Devon.

Yeah, I dunno. He was inactive 2 weeks in 2024. Missed 1 game in 2023. Sometimes these seasons start blending together.

Look, I'm not saying Woolen is a completely worthless player, but he leaves a lot to be desired with his unwillingness to tackle and playing the "bait the QB" game sometimes to a fault. I don't believe if he's replaced it will automatically mean our defense isn't as good. I just don't see him as a good fit for Macdonald's defense, and I think he'll be a PC regime player that doesn't get another contract on this team. I guess we'll see. I hope he plays out of his mind this year.

Yeah. Get got hurt in the Giants game and missed the next 2 games.

Well I remember when Tre Brown played last year because of injuries to Jobe/Devon/Woolen and it was pretty ugly.

Pritchett showed some promise but got hurt a bunch and still had a lot to learn.

Obviously a lot will depend on what kind of salary he will demand.

Seahawks will be getting a new Uniform this season. Guess the AFC East and NFC West get the first "Rivalries" uniforms in 2025.

If it's anything like what MLB did then yeah dogshit. The Mariners city connects or what ever they called them were just disgusting, reminded me of when i was 8 years old wearing parks and rec uniforms.

Great day for us Hawks fans:

That should be the end of the 9ers. Down to LA and us going forward. Late 90s/early 00s are back in full.

That's a LOT of money for a guy that still hasn't really proven anything, beyond being on a stacked team that lost a SB

Definitely good for us... He's not even at Cousins or Carr's level... Jr version of them... A lot of money for someone like that...

Everyone keeps also saying "He went to the Super Bowl!"

Yah, with like ELITE talent at pretty much EVERY position. WTF? Icing on the cake they signed Kittle to a 4 year $70M+ deal when the guy is 32 and barely can make it on the field these days.

What's even more puzzling to me is they spent ALL their early draft capital on defense... when their OL needs work, Kittle is hardly reliable, CMAC might be cooked (likely is), and Aiyuk is coming off an ACL. I mean why the hell did they pass on Tyler Warren? Whatever.
