Purdy Just turned 25 years old. Yep thats it, 25. He wont turn 26 till December so his best years are still ahead of him. Did they over pay? yes was it a bad move, yes but some of you here wanted to "over pay" for geno just to keep him. I would rather have Purdy than Geno. I think Purdy will be a step better than Geno and 4 steps better for his career but he isn't worth the money he is getting paid. NO NFL PLAYER IS!

Absolutely no one was saying we should give max money to Geno. I think everyone would have been angry if they gave him a 5 year max contract

Purdy's contract is nearly double Geno's lifetime earnings.

Mmm, some folks here wanted to keep Geno (I was fine with it) but I don't recall anyone saying they'd overpay to keep him lol. Most people were fine paying him AROUND where the Darnold contract was.

Overpay never said max money and over paying for Geno is anything over 35.

No they skirted around the money issue when people brough it up with things like " What other option do we have?" then bashed any OTHER options people brought up. Lol you "DON'T" remember that?

Maybe I was just ignorant to it. I remember folks wanting to resign him because "What other option is there?" but I don't remember overpaying him being part of that.

I was ok with keeping Geno on another deal if the high water mark never got above about 13% of the cap. Just throwing out a number like "35" doesn't mean much unless we know what the cap is. $35M is a lot less if the cap is $350M than if it's $270M. It goes up around 8%/year, and that matters.

I was in the Justin Fields camp for a couple of reasons of him being had on the cheap and a real coaching staff in Steeler land he played much better in those 7 or so games played vs his career in Chicago.

Yeah, I was ok if they brought Fields in. Sure he very well could have been a down grade but i also saw a QB that played a lot better with the Steelers. He got out of the bad situation and improved. I think we have yet to see his best and he wasnt half bad last year but now they Hawks have a QB a lot like Fields.

Coaching is key and if it was Fields but now with Darnold if you believe in our staff I think they'll get the best out of him.

up and down day for Sam in todays practice and a solid day for Lock who threw a couple nice TD passes in 11 on 11 drills. Sam had a couple TD also and a couple INT's but he was also going against the #1 defense but was also playing with the #1 offense. The oline was Cross, Zabel, Olu, Haynes and Bradford swapping and Lucas at RT. One of Sams picks was a bad one when he had no one open and tried to force it into the endzone. Something we all saw WAY TO MUCH of from Geno.

Eh I'm okay with that. You've got a new QB coming into an offense that is going through a pretty major revamp. Three new WRs, basically two rookie TEs, couple new OL, new scheme/OC that Darnold is prob. familiar with or will adapt to (but new nonetheless), etc.

The defense for the most part is the same as last year but D Law is likely a big improvement over Jones. Was Emmanwori out there at all with the 1st team? I know he was taken in the 2nd, but he was easily a 1st round pick that just fell a bit. 1st rounders should be on the field (MAYBE exception QB).

Eh it's been a little quiet Screamin' but that's not too unusual this time of the year. We're only in early June... and with the Ms giving some early hope and now quickly back to their usual tank mode, we should see a few come crawling back here :pound:

I know a bit unrelated, but what do you guys think DK is gonna do with Rodgers?

I'm predicting a < 1K yard season and 7 TDs. I think DK mails it in the rest of his career.
