Yeah, this western conference road trip definitely has the potential to suck...Lol We have to wait until Friday for the 1st game and then they have to suit up again the very next day.

We didn't have the support here to do a fantasy league, but I joined one on espn. I'll probably join another too. It helps me keep up with the league as a whole. There are 10 teams and 22 rounds. My team is so stacked that I drafted Michkov in the 19th round and Ersson in the 21st...Lol

Also, I have McDavid, Jack and Quinn Hughes, Marner, Svechnikov, Stutzle, Bouchard, Morrissey, Toews and Thompson.

Seems like we start on the west coast every year.
I believe they request it.

A part of me feels like they use it to bond and a part of me thinks they get paid by the NHL to do this.

At a quick glance, it feels like every single favorite lost last night, a couple teams got absolutely shelled, and really, nobody could've predicted any of it...Lol

I've now done two live, fantasy drafts and Michkov gets no love at all, despite being the odds-on favorite to win the Calder. And so, I picked him up very late and he's on both of my teams.

Technically, we're starting week 2, but week 1 was a bit abbreviated anyway. No big deal.

I know it's a new location and they are overly hyped, but I swear, if the fucking Utah Hockey Club win a Cup before we do, we might as well all find another team to back...Rofl That said, I have that kid Guenther on both fantasy squads and he's on fire. Nice, sleeper pick in fantasy.

I'm excited for tonight, but unfortunately, I have to tape the game and head into work. Hopefully I get to watch the replay first thing in the morning when I get home.

Based on what I've seen so far this season, I expect a lot of sloppy defense and a lot of goals...Lol

Pretty good game all around. Errsson was on fire and played his ass off. Great to see, maybe he will end up easing our Hart loss. Some missed plays but it's game 1 so I'm not gonna speak on too much. Thought they had some problems with exiting the zone at times but hopefully they'll get better there. Defense looked a little off to start but played better later. Over all I was excited with what I saw.

Big, come from behind 3-2 win on the road, and also against a team that had already played a game a couple days earlier. Obviously, Ersson shut the door frequently throughout the 1st period and again late in the game (and shootout) to give us a chance. Konecny scores a clutch shootout goal to avoid what we all probably considered to be an inevitable SO loss. Frost then came in nice and slow and just sniped one low glove on Lankinen (who was out of place) for the W and the critical extra point. Huge reaction from Frosty, his teammates and everyone on the bench too.

Foerster and York had beautiful snipes in regulation to keep the game close and then to tie it late. Believe it or not, our power play ends up 1 for 4, or 25%. It's early, but that would be a massive improvement over last season's pace (more than double).

Ersson definitely stepped up to the plate and saved our bacon last night. We need to support him more and I think we started to rectify that in the 2nd, 3rd and OT. He then stops 4 of the 5 Canucks in the shootout and amazingly, both Konecny and Frost were able to beat Lankinen, who was also pretty good throughout the game.

Tough game for our youngsters, but I think that can be expected. Guys like Luchanko and Michkov just need to keep after it and the pay off will eventually come. Michkov already has vision, anticipation and passing abilities (overall offensive awareness) that we perhaps haven't seen on this team since Forsberg nearly 20 years ago. And by that time, Forsberg was pretty much in the twilight of his career and not the player he once was. This kid is still 19 years old and the sky is the limit. It's an exciting time, for sure.

Yep. Liked what the flyers have done and their small but essential improvements. More work to be done as we proceed towards that elusive Cup.
