Don’t need to be playing your best football in September and October, just need wins in those two months. You need to be playing your best ball in December and January

Well I hope that FUCK Norton feels better about giving up 28 points to ANOTHER injured QB situation while everyone in the World realizes getting pressure on the QB is about as obvious of a play as putting on a condom before banging a hooker.

Chubb Beckman and Landry are great players

After the beat down they got from the 49ers you KNEW the Browns were going out for blood. The Hawks took the best they had and forced TO. Winning on the road in Cleveland is big. Defense only gave up 8 points in the 2nd Half after 20 in the first.

:yahoo:

Come on Rams, Beat the 49ers! :) i can't believe i said that. To be honest we are winners no matter who wins between the Rams and 49ers. A lost by the Rams and we got a two game lead on them and we still play the 49ers twice. A lost by the 49ers and we are all tied for 1st with the Hawks holding the Tie breaker.
And of course we can't watch any of that game without some kind of streaming.

NFL is the only pro league that limits their TV footprint this stupidly. Even college carries pretty much every game worth seeing. It's 2019 ffs.

when was the last time the Hawks were 5-1? NM 2013 when they won the superbowl. This is the 3rd time in team history they have been 5-1 i don't know when the other time was? 2005? Found it, it was 2003.

INT!!!

We've been fortunate... 2 of our picks are due to their WR's not being able to catch it...
EXACTLY, I was thinking the same thing. No way you can blame those INT's on Mayfield.

So happy we are 5-1. Definitely still a flawed team, especially on defense. But having an elite QB makes such a huge difference.

Does it seem like every game we have to spot the other team a TD? Anyway, to me this is another game where the difference was who we have playing QB. Russell is worth every penny. I cannot believe how well we were able to move the ball with those OL injuries. Carson was a brute, and of course Russell is probably the league MVP at this point.

Pete just needs to take an appetite suppressant with those red flags. I didn't think OBJ was in the first couple times I saw the play, but there was an angle where I wasn't sure that he didn't get an elbow down just before touching OB. Someone in our booth should have been able to see that and tell Pete not to challenge, but it was a pretty big gain to potentially overturn.

I also really didn't like going for 2 in the 1st half. Way too early in the game to be chasing points.

And Dissly….man, just snake bitten it seems. I hope that achilles is not ruptured. Even if not, you probably gotta give him about a month off I would think.

I have no idea what happens from here with the 49ers off to such a good start and still a road game left Rams, but right now I'll definitely take 5-1 and won't apologize for close wins or iffy penalties. That's the NFL these days.

And welcome back, Jarran Reed!

Our defense will continue to improve as the season progresses. A trade mark of Carroll, the team gets better and better as he gets deeper into the season. Has been that way pretty much every season he has been here, no reason to believe it won’t happen again this year

Yeah, the D is a bit puzzling to me. Why are they not better? The secondary is the obvious weakness (though I think Griffin is playing at a high level week in and week out), but I really thought the front 7 was going to be stout. Ansah and KJ are the only 30-something players, so it's not old. Is the absence of Jarran Reed that impactful?

You know a QB is having an amazing year when they have a 117 QB rating and their overall QB rating goes DOWN!

We just don't have any pass rush. We aren't getting home with 4 rushers. Hopefully Reed will help a lot but he isn't likely to change the entire pass rush around.

Pete really needs to rethink his approach. When you have one of the worst pressure rates in the NFL and one of the most infrequent blitzers, you are going to give up yards.
