I am only able to look at the pitch tracker but ball 3 to Garcia was high in the zone and the next pitch was even higher and he swung and missed it. We need baserunners and he needs to pull his head out and take the walks and put the tying run on 2nd instead ofCould not agree more making the 2nd out on the next pitch.

Not only are we missing Seager and Heim but also Jung. So that is 3 all stars not playing. And we have a number of guys who have been on a downhill trend in Duran and Jankowski even though Janny had an IF single. Then you throw in Huff, Grossman who can come up with a big hit and Smith who had a double but all are hitting in the low 200's it is almost like we have an Oakland type offense out there.

The 2 stolen bases allowed to Esteury Ruiz are 100% inexcusable. The guy leads baseball in stolen bases. You have to know he’s going to be running. I know with the new rules there’s only so much Montgomery can do to hold him on, but every pitch to Bride should have been one that Huff could quickly and easily handle for a throw (no slow breaking stuff in the dirt). And Huff- dude, you’ve been playing catcher your whole life. If you can’t throw a ball to 3rd base any better than that, you should just retire.

I know we all talk about Semien’s “decline”, Nate’s stupid at-bats, Garcia’s increasing strikeout total, and the Jankowski/Grossman platoon.

But if you want the real culprit for the team’s massive drop off in run production from the first 50 games to no, look no further than Duran and Taveras. They were the best “bottom third” hitters in the league for a while, with both having near-.300 averages and providing a huge threat from the bottom of the order that other teams didn’t have. And now they’re both just absolute black holes who can’t hit to save their lives.
