No More "Bullpen Failure"
I wonder if Miller goes to 60 -day, Miller gets DFAed, or Ornelas is DFAed.
That’s not exactly a ringing endorsement of Josh Smith. He’s a .220 hitter with almost no power. One hit doesn’t change the fact that he shouldn’t be playing.
We don't need Miller so hopefully he goes.I wonder if Miller goes to 60 -day, Miller gets DFAed, or Ornelas is DFAed.
We pitched well enough to win.Stratton has been excellent!
The “scorn” wasn’t directed at Smith. It was directed at Bochy. I was pretty clear about that. Smith is not a good player. He just isn’t. And asking him to just “step up” and be a productive player isn’t his fault. If Josh Smith is in the lineup, then you can’t also have Sam Huff and Robbie Grossman in there. That’s just too much mediocrity and failure all at once.It wasn't meant to be an endorsement of Smith as much as it was a reminder that there's plenty of scorn to go around, and he probably shouldn't be that high on the list.

He's been awesome. So has Montgomery and Scherzer. Hate that we punted today's game by resting Seager and Garver, but you gotta feel pretty good about the pitching continuing to improve. That bodes well come playoff time when there won't be any intentional rest for our best hitters.Stratton has been excellent!
Yes, because I said he doesn’t care. That’s what I said. Not that it was poor strategy, but that he just didn’t care. Reading comprehension- work on it.if anything shows that the manager doesn’t care 2 on bottom of the 9th and he sends Smith to the plate
And 2 of those got hits in the 9th and Bochy still sent Smith to the plateAnd right there is proof of why you can’t have those 3 subpar players all together. Because even if one or two of them do manage to get a hit, the chances are much lower that the third one will come through. I mean, no player in all of baseball is guaranteed to succeed. And yes, sometimes your best hitters have terrible days where they are to blame. But that’s when you need to have semi-decent guys behind them to pick them up.
Realistically, the only way we could have won today was if Semien, Lowe, and Garcia had big (or at least decent) days. Expecting that bottom 5 to carry the day was just too much.
So being critical of a manager’s lineup strategy for one game is “petulance”?Jesus Christ this game certainly demonstrated the petulance of Rangers fans everywhere
Sorry I typed that before your post popped upYes, because I said he doesn’t care. That’s what I said. Not that it was poor strategy, but that he just didn’t care. Reading comprehension- work on it.
He meant to say flatulence. So being critical of a manager’s lineup strategy for one game is “petulance”?
Yes they do. Today Semien, Lowe and Garcia went 0 for 10. They have got to do better than that.Guys just need to produce. Some are not
