In discussing a possible roster nove to make way for JP Martinez, Jeff Wilson had this to say.

Something else to consider: With Jonah Heim healing quickly and possibly returning next week, the Rangers might be able to part with catcher Austin Hedges. Yes, they just got him at the trade deadline, but they didn’t give up much. Brad Miller, on the injured list, might also be expendable.

I’ll take Hedges behind the dish any day in the late innings of a playoff game over Garver and Huff.

FutureStarSeries.com really, really likes newly drafted Caden Scarborough. In fact, they have about 5 guys on there that I have never seen on any lists before, and I have not read where any of those guys would be considered to be on a new top 30 list.

I have been working on my own top 30 list the last few days, and it is harder this time. After the first few guys, there aren't too many clear lines of demarcation elsewhere in the list.

- Swap Langford and Carter
- Swap Porter and Foscue
- Leiter and Rocker should be way higher due to their extremely high ceilings and pedigrees, recent problems aside. You don’t bury a guy in rankings due to an injury or a setback in development. They will have to remain injured or ineffective for many more months before I give up on them the way this guy has.
- Scarborough is too high, too soon.
- Ortiz? Wendzel? Not even good enough to make a top 30 list?
