Evo with another great outing. Gave up a 360 ft cheap homer.
This is sad that this team is helpless on offense. You need more than Seager to fix this.Evo with another great outing. Gave up a 360 ft cheap homer.
i would grant every one of our starting pitchers permission to approach other teams about a trade. this team is incapable of generating any offense and they have the worst bullpen in league with no hope of improvement from the front office. expecting that with a few days or weeks Bochy will announce he's stepping away he's not a miracle worker and can't make diamonds out of BSThis is sad that this team is helpless on offense. Evo does not deserve to lose this game
i'd say bottom 5 even with SeagerAbout to be swept by the Yankees. Can't say I'm surprised. Without Seager this is the worst offense in baseball. And with Seager it's still bottom 10.
someone earlier in the thread said that the bp can be either average, bad or mediocre or some combination but this is mediocre from top to bottomFrom Jamey Newberg:
Updating the note in this morning's gamer: Evo, Mahle, & deGrom all in MLB top 10 in ERA -- and Rangers now 17-14 in their starts.
Hard to believe.
Wyatt is swinging over the top of almost everything. He was nose diving even when Seager was in the lineup. No excuses for any of these guys.Wyatt is being pitched around
No Seager hurts or he sees a pitch
If I had a choice I would trade deGrom because Eovaldi still has 2 years left on his contract. Someone will be more than happy to pay for deGrom even as a rental in a pennant race.If DeGrom and Eovaldi keep pitching this well...and the Rangers are out of it by the AS break which is very likely to be the case...then BOTH pitchers will be on the trade block. Less likely with DeGrom but Eovaldi for sure. I'm already assuming Mahle will be traded.
Degrom is signed through 2027 with a mutual option for 2028.If I had a choice I would trade deGrom because Eovaldi still has 2 years left on his contract. Someone will be more than happy to pay for deGrom even as a rental in a pennant race.
Wow that's astonishing. Feel bad for those guysFrom Jamey Newberg:

We are an old team. The Seager - degrom - Eovaldi window to return to contender status is not long...probably this year and 26. IF this team does not significantly improve offensively by the break, you have to at minimum consider tearing it all down and restocking the farm with young talent.DeGrom and Eovaldi aren't going anywhere. If Gray is active before the deadline he could be traded and certainly Mahle and Corbin would be highly coveted, and would bring back a significant return, especially Mahle.
I just don't think CY and Ray Davis want to tear it all down. Selling off some ot it would probably be palatable to them, but not tearing everything down.We are an old team. I do not want to trade any of those guys but this is the worst Ranger offense I've ever seen and it's not likely to get much better. The return on either of those pitchers if they stay healthy from a contending team would be fantastic since they are cost controlled for 2 more seasons.
Not ready to pull the plug yet. But by Jul 1st if this offense is still this awful you have to consider it.
i agree although not many teams will look at Gray until they can see him pitch a number of times and he might not be ready until a week or 2 before the deadline. as i said earlier i would give them all including deGrom and Eovaldi the opportunity to talk to other teams and give them a cash number we would be willing to throw into any deal to get it done. i would also make some of the veteran position players available with the same cash option available. the Rangers ownership doesn't want to compete so we might as well let the veteran players who can leaveDeGrom and Eovaldi aren't going anywhere. You would probably have to trade Gray for a player to be named later, depending on how much they used him.i agree although not many teams will look at Gray until they can see him pitch a number of times and he might not be ready until a week or 2 before the deadline. as i said earlier i would give them all including deGrom and Eovaldi the opportunity to talk to other teams and give them a cash number we would be willing to throw into any deal to get it done. i would also make some of the veteran position players available with the same cash option available. the Rangers ownership doesn't want to compete so we might as well let the veteran players who can leave
near the top in baseball in ERA, QS and several other stats but nearer the bottom of baseball in wins, saves etcWow that's astonishing. Feel bad for those guys
I don't agree with that. CY just misspent the money.the Rangers ownership doesn't want to compete
