The Rangers are up against a very tough opponent in the Yankees. Even though all the pitching matchups favor the Rangers, the Yankees are up close to the top of MLB in hitting and the Rangers aren't far from the bottom.

With no Seager and no Carter the Rangers offense doesn't seem to be much of a force to be reckoned with. Pederson only has 3 hits in his last 25 att bats. Semien is 4 for his last 27. Smith is 5-26. Adolis is 5-25. Pillar is 4-27. Langford is 6-27. Burger is 8-24. Jung is 9-25. Haggerty is 5-18.

I had heard a few days ago that the Rangers had had the toughest schedule in baseball. I checked the remaining strength of schedule and the Rangers are right in the middle of the pack tied for 15th place. Seattle has a weaker remaining strength of schedule, along with the Astros. The Astros currently have th the easiest remaining schedule baseball.

It still remains to be seen if the Rangers will be buyers or sellers at the deadline.

I am glad we are not facing Fried. Hope Corbin can handle this cracker jack ballpark.

From Baseball America:

We can look at pitching in the same way. The Rays’ emphasis on throwing strikes is quite apparent here. The Tigers have some good pitching environments to work in, but their overall performance is quite impressive.

In Conclusion

While an organization that has plenty of hitter’s parks/leagues or pitching-friendly leagues can stand out in either the hitting or pitching categories, being near the top in many hitting and pitching categories shows a team has excellent depth of talent/successful players.

Obviously, a team can somewhat tweak how they perform by holding back players and being old for each level. But the 165-player roster limits of today do ensure that teams are not really full of top-tier veteran org players.

I like your baseball America stat sheet. The pitching stats factors in the bullpen.
Our starting pitching has been great.

And bullpen help can be acquired. Probably cheaper than hitters or starting pitching.

So still have optimism for the season. I don’t think we can wait till August for reinforcements. If we do, there will be some misery involved with watching blown leads. Especially the way the bats are going.

Main thing is hoping none of the pitchers get hurt and we stay close, and CY swings a couple of trades for late season push

Guess they just gave up on Crim and decided he could not compete with JOC. Seems like the perfect time to give Crim the opportunity to prove himself. Absolutely zero to lose.
