possibly that might work. if we cleared Mahle, Corbin, Gray and then maybe Eovoldi and deGrom along with cash we could promote Teodo & Santos and go with Bradford, Leiter, Rocker, Santos and Teodo. they would probably get rocked for a while but then who knows

The only year he has had restraints lately is this year and that was to specifically keep from going into the penalty threshold 3 years in a row. Even at that, CY had plenty to work with, and he blew it.

After this year the spending will increase again. They told us months ago that that was the plan and they have stuck to it. They will spend this winter.

Yeah, that is why I was aggressive in what I would ask the Red Sox for. He is a top 60 MLB prospect.

I just don't think CY and Ray Davis want to tear it all down. Selling off some ot it would probably be palatable to them, but not tearing everything down.

Starting pitching means too much to CY to get rid of great ones who have some time left here. The hitters, yeah, but not those two starting pitchers.

I think it might be wise to trade deGrom, but CY wouldn't do it. It would give you a ton of money to spend this winter.

Doesn’t matter if you have great starting pitching, when you can’t score.

Degrom is signed through 2027 with a mutual option for 2028.

I didn't realize that. I would like to keep him to but I don't think he will hold up for that long.

I am not counting on the being in the big league rotation this year. Maybe at some point next year Santos might be ready, but Teodo's starting days are over.

Outside of trading Walcott, Osuna, Rocker or Leiter, I am not sure we have anyone to trade that could bring back good bullpen pieces. I would rather not trade any of those guys.
