To be fair, none of the Rangers’ middle infield prospects were anywhere close to the talent level of Carter and Langford. Furthermore, Seager was and is still very young himself, so I don’t see how anyone could find the slightest fault with the FO for his contract. There wasn’t and isn’t a Corey Seager anywhere in our system.
He’s doing it against vastly inferior competition, and he’s got major mental problems and a very violent streak in him. No MLB team will touch him with a 10 ft pole for quite some time… possibly ever.
One look at the “writer’s” Twitter feed explains it… he’s a major Trevor Bauer fan. He tweets often about Bauer’s performances in individual games in Japan. He’s also your average shock and awe sports blogger who likes to post hot takes and controversial nonsense to get likes and views.
I was totally on board with going after Seager. I would have thought it a mistake to not sign one of the top 3 SS available that year.
Astros’ number is skewed by one extra series with the Royals. We play the A’s once, and they play the A’s once and the Royals once. Other than that, the schedules are almost identical, featuring a lot of teams just above .500. So I guess you could say the Astros have a 3-game advantage in terms of scheduling. But it’s close. And we still have one series left with them. That one will likely play a big role in determining the division winner.
Actually, that is correct. They do have a series with them just a week after their first week one. So it’s basically the Royals giving the Astros the “easier” schedule. But at least they have to play the Orioles one more time.

Remember when they told everyone to stop referring to the team as the O's back when they started off something like 0-21? I couldn't help but remember that, the other day, when they suspended their announcer.
He did and walked him to load the bases. Next batter had an IF single and then he faced a 103 hitter in Singleton and got him to pop out. If that is any indication on how he will pitch under playoff pressure the manager better have a short leash with someone warming up in case he tries to implode again.
