I winder if the Rangers will bring Teido up at some point this year. He will have to be added to the 40-man in a few weeks anyway.

If they do that I wonder if they peg him as a reliever

Lowe is out because he is not worth 10 million he likely would get.
Prefer Adolis at DH because he has lost a step or if. this changes that would be great and then Leody can be 4th OF or get moved and Adolis plays RF
Pray for Carter to be healthy and no longer fragile same with Jung
Need one more big bat
Smith can be UIF
Not big on Langford or Smith in CF due to arm. Carter is ok but will need big bark in RF
Other than catcher- all bats need to produce
7-9 should not be a black hole

To me CY decides who is active but Bochy decides who to play.

I think if he can decide who starts and who relieves he can choose which position player will start. Not saying he would go overboard, but he might make a decision or two.

I imagine he would start as many innings as he would if he isn't called up because they would let him stay in Round Rock until their season is over. If anything they would just want to get an upclose look at him against MLB hitters for a few innings. I don't imagine the chances are that high though.

I think you underestimate Smith's arm to a degree and Langford's a good deal.

I think Duran might have a better chance to play CF than Smith though. Just a hunch.

sorry, i didn't realize that i wasn't allowed to add to your scenario. personally i don't think the GM should dictate playing time to the manager
