It wouldn't be the end of the word if he's claimed. Either way we're going to trade him. Hopefully the Pirates claim him or the Royals, or any other team with pitching.

don't see any team claiming him

No claim = Can go anywhere...
Claimed = Can only go to the 1 team...
Severely limits their options.

I'd rather have him clear waivers..

still don't see him as someone worth trading for or that is going to bring a decent return

Looks like Cotts is staying put. From what I can tell he wasn't placed on waivers and the Nationals said to be looking at Cotts as LH BP help added Matt Thornton from the Yankees

Hopefully not Choice.... The guy still needs a lot of work.

Hopefully it is Choice which means he did his job and got back on track, there's a lot of time between now and start of next season

If Choice is starting that means he earned it, hopefully he can keep it

The tigers picked up Jim Johnson :(...... The rangers should of gotten him. If the tigers are able to fix him, it will be a steal.

I hope Choice does well but I don't think you can just count on that happening and not pick up someone in the off season. I mean, I don't you think you go into the season counting on that to happening unless it is a rebuilding year. I am just hoping that won't be the case.

Sure hope his d improves as well too because if it ends up being Choice, he and Choo at the corners could get ugly.

You make that decision based on the rest of this season and his probable September call up

I also didn't say that precludes them from bringing in a free agent, however if they're confident in Choice based on the rest of this year, why bother potentially wasting the money, its a choice that they'll have to make, and I'd be ok with the decision either way

I'm not one to question orsupport every single decision based on whether it works out or not

Still agree with the Fielder trade, it hasn't worked out yet, as both guys Fielder and Profar didn't do much this year, but I still think it was the right move

Agree with everything you said other supporting some decisions regardless of results. At the end of the day, its the results that matter. They dictate if it was a right or wrong move? How else do you measure with out coming up with an abstract conclusion.

Fielder trade still has plenty of potential to be a very good one but it has equal potential to go completely the other direction and be as crippling as the Arod contract. So far though, it definitely hasn't worked out for us and it appears the Tigers might have pulled a fast one on us. I'm hoping he gets back to where he was.

Time will tell on Fielder and Pro questionable injuries to overcome, but the move was probably the right one. We know we are not going to have a chance getting Cruz back in the offseason but I'd like to see an outfield of Melky in LF, Martin in CF and Choo in RF. Choice needs time and I don't want to see him as the 4th OF getting a bunch of days off, he needs everyday playing time.

I'll reserve judgement on Choice for after the season, for all we know he goes on a tear through August, and it continues when called up in September, I'm not saying he will, but I'm also not going to assume he needs more work, or he just needs to get his confidence back up after getting jerked all over the place at the beginning of the season

If he does go on a tear, then I see no reason to assume we need to spend money on a Cabrera, but all that remains to be seen
