They shut him down for that reason. They didn't want to rush him back and risk other injuries. Not that my word means anything to you, but I have zero doubt in him being back at number 3 in the rotation next year.

Martin just got like 2 days off, because Murphy is a dumbass.

Imo Gentry needs to be in the line up period. Good for Martin to rest but no reason to play Murphy every day.

Gentry-Martin obviously looks the best but I don't have a problem with Murphy in there every once in a while against righties on a day where somebody needs a rest. Martin has looked lost these past few games and was absolutely atrocious yesterday.

It's the expectation of the club as well. Daniels already said as much when they shut him down. "It was a significant injury, real surgery and we have every expectation he'll be 100 percent by this offseason and certainly by spring training."

i'm not saying he won't be ready. I just think that a starting rotation of Darvish, Harrison, Garza, Holland and Perez would be the best rotation for this team. I don't want to see Tepesch, Blackley or Kirkman in our rotation again

Kirkman has never started a game in the majors, and I don't think he ever will as long as he's in the Rangers organization.

I don't know if paying Garza 16 million to keep Nick Tepesch from starting is wise.

I don't think the Rangers optioned are that limited, but if I was forced to pick Tepesch as 5th starter or Garza for 16 million....I lean heavily toward Garza going to the Angels and being a headcase for them.
