How bad is your offense when you only get 1 hit and 0 runs against the lowly Athletics. Have to say the lineup Bochy put out there was pretty bad. When you have Kninzer, Wendzel, and Taveras out there, you’re not going to score much.

There are legitimate concerns about Brock Burke. He really hasn’t developed a second pitch to go with a fastball that is good, but not overwhelming. Its average velocity of 94.6 mph is just a hair above average. It’s made a more effective pitch by his elite extension, how much closer he is to home plate at the point of release, which can make the velocity play up a hair. But it doesn’t have a ton of movement. And he’s throwing it more than 70 percent of the time. The issues here: Even with monster velocities, a straight fastball is hittable, and if you don’t make hitters think about a secondary pitch, they can time up the fastball.

I think the next time the Rangers need a lefty in a leverage situation, Jacob Latz will get the chance. And the Rangers may not be far from looking at Antoine Kelly as a possible lefty option. The Burke “experiment” isn’t done. But he’s on thin ice and it’s starting to crack a bit.

I’ve seen enough of Burke. If he hasn’t developed a second pitch by now, he’s not going too. Time for him to go.

I don't understand when Bochy decided to pinch hit, why the order of the guys coming off the bench wasn't Carter, Smith, and then Walsh.

6 thru 9 was terribly weak. Bochy is resting people before they get tired and Leody is Bochy's golden haired boy.

At the deadline e he would have 5.5 years of control left. He would be extremely costly.

So far this year Matt Moore has thrown 5 innings. He has given up 0 hits and 0 walks while striking out 4. That's after a 2.66 ERA last year.
