Is Mark Davis the best owner in Pro Football? I would say yes!!

You mean the guy who has had 1 winning season in the 6 years he has been owner and has yet to win a single playoff game as owner? Hmmm yeah that makes a lot of sense compared to say Pat Bowlen who has more Super Bowl seasons than losing seasons since he has taken over ownership or Robert Kraft that has helped make the Patriots one of the most dominant teams in NFL history. Or how about the Rooney family that have ran one of the most consistently good franchises in the NFL for years.

Come on Idaho I know you are a homer but at least stay in the realm of reality. Davis has a lot to prove as an owner to get close to be mentioned with well just about any winning owner out there.

What Mark Davis has done in a very short time is amazing! Some has tried for years and ain't done what Mark has in a short period of time.

We all know what kind of team Mark to control of, and look at it now?!
He hired Reggie who is EOY
He has a young SB contending team.
And he's getting a World Class Stadium for peanuts on his part.
And now he's one of the better respected Owners in the league. The problem with a lot of rival fans? They still think this is the RAIDERS from 10 or more years ago. Cuz they just can't accept what clearly is in front of them.

You call me a homer, and all im saying is Mark is going to the entertainment capital world while playing in what will be the best stadium in the world with one of the better teams in the league..
An owners job is to sell his product. Im not sure what more you want Mark to do?

Oh? And as for a playoff win? Well, Marks franchise QB was hurt and didn't play in that game..
Would Derek Carr play a big roll in that playoff game? I will leave it at that..

I"m sorry I don't find it all that impressive. And others have done what he has done. Heck the Broncos went from #2 pick in the draft to Super Bowl just 3 years later. Bowlen when he took over the Broncos were nowhere near a world class organization. Next thing you know they became the class of the AFC and like I said have been to more Super Bowls than have had losing seasons. The Raiders have had 11 losing seasons since 2003. The Broncos have had 11 losing seasons since 1968. When Mark Davis can consistently see his team be good then we can talk.

As for the stadium it was pretty much handed to him. He did very little to actually get that stadium in my opinion. Oakland fans have refused to pay for his stadium and some people in Vegas saw an opportunity at some big money. Heck the NFL had to be nice and cut down on the moving cost because Mark Davis is so dirt poor when it comes to NFL owners.

And let's wait until the stadium is actually done before we call it world class. And no he is not one of the more respected owners around the league. The Raiders have been on the outside looking in because of some moves that Al Davis made against the other owners and that has carried over to Mark Davis. Easy to see when the whole moving of teams was allowed and instead of letting the Raiders return to LA the other owners blocked that from ever happening. Huge sign of how they feel about the Davis family.

Of course your not impressed cd. We could win the next 5 SBs in a row and you would still feel the same way.
This is just a simple case of hate overriding logic. Hey? Im guilty of that as well at times, just not as extreme :)

Anyways, nobody is saying Bowlen is a bad owner! In fact he's been one of the better owners in the league in his time. All im saying is Mark is better, and that don't mean Bowlen stinks. It just means, that i think Mark is better.. Now Mark took over a team that was in complete ruins cd, and i mean complete ruins!! And now his team is a model for how to build a franchise.. What we all must remember is Mark is Al Davis son one of the best in Pro Football in his time! So he knows how to build a franchise, he just does it a little different from his dad.
In a very short time just look at Marks RAIDERS for proof..

Again cd, Vegas don't build second class. Sorry nobody is buying that.
And i see cd you are trying to say Mark is paying for his dads deeds when that is not the case. Mark is his own man that is respected around the league. Mark flexed his muscles and in a short time he got a 2B stadium.

cd this was never about being blocked from LA man. It was always about opening the doors to a world city like Vegas dude.. This was always about a world team like the RAIDERS in Vegas dude. The RAIDERS made the draft, combine, SBs and other NFL events along with league games possible in Vegas! It was always about Vegas.
Now you along with millions of other fans can come and enjoy the RAIDERS City and watch the teams you guys root for. Along with everything else the NFL provides.

Few things here...

1) This is not hate overriding logic. If the Raiders won the next 5 Super Bowls I would be the first calling them the greatest franchise in NFL history. That would mean they actually accomplished something. At this point under Mark Davis the best you can say they have accomplished is finally ending their missing the playoff streak. Yes good sign they are moving in the right direction but plenty of teams have been to the playoffs recently. Pretty almost every team in the league minus a few have made the playoffs over the last 5 years. So again not really a big accomplishment. Win a Super Bowl and yes I will consider that a huge accomplishment. Heck win the AFC and I would be impressed with what the Raiders are doing. Otherwise right now to the rest of the NFL they just look like another team that has some promise but hasn't done anything with that promise.

2) Never said building in Vegas is 2nd class. I said lets wait and see what the stadium actually looks like in the end. Vegas is known to start projects and run out of money not being able to finish quite as extravagant as they first promised. Believe me one of my best friends lives in Vegas and I have seen some of the money issues they are having. Heck since 2009 Vegas has been losing billions. This past year alone the casinos lost $662 million across the board.

3) You can believe they were not blocked from LA but there is plenty of proof that other owners blocked that possibility just to spite the Davis family. LA would have been more money and more exposure. We are talking one of the media capitals of the world with LA where Vegas is more just viewed as a vacation spot. Big difference in markets too of one of the largest cities in the country compared to Vegas.

cd you would never give the RAIDERS any credit for anything, we both know that don't we? And that's ok it makes it all better. And it's not only about the RAIDERS getting into the payoffs cd but about everything that an owner does including the playoffs. Don't just get hung up on one issue but look at the big picture..

Money is not a problem for building that stadium. It's fully funded.. Those picture you see on the net is what it will look like. Or close to it..

Yes they were blocked, but not for the reasons you are thinking. But for the reasons i gave you.. Again it was all about Vegas for the RAIDERS from the get go cd. The LA drama was just that, needless drama about nothing...

Pretty sure I have given them credit where credit is due. I have said plenty that Khalil Mack was an incredible draft pick. I said before he was a Raider that the Broncos should trade just about anything to move up and get the guy and commended the Raiders on taking him. I have said plenty of times that Carr has really proven to be a top-10 QB in the NFL and one of the rising stars at the position. I have said plenty that the OL is stellar. I have given the Raiders plenty of compliments for things they have done. I'm just not as smitten with them as you are where you see they do no wrong ever. Heck last year when I asked you to point out just one thing that you think could be a weakness on the team you couldn't do it. You called guys who have been cut by the team now All-Pro level talent. So if we are looking at records of who has been right more often pretty sure when it comes to the Raiders I have been that guy.

And I am looking at the big picture. The Raiders have set themselves up pretty nicely but there are a lot of good teams in the league and it doesn't take much to go from top contender to top-10 pick in this league. So while one good season is a good start for the Raiders I think most need to see more consistency before declaring the Raiders are back.

To me right now the Raiders have a 2-year Super Bowl window. They have 2 of their top players on low contracts allowing them to try and build depth. Once they have to sign both Mack and Carr to record breaking contracts the chances drop dramatically. Ask Aaron Rodgers what happened once he got paid. Joe Flacco, Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees, and so many others. All of those guys won Super Bowls when they were on cheap team friendly deals. Once they got paid well the team just wasn't as formidable.

When have you said all these good things about the RAIDERS? This ain't fake news on your part is it?? J/K
Anyways i did tell you what some of the concerns i had with this team, i just don't dwell on those concerns like some do. I say it once and move on. And we did have a league high in pro bowl players or close to it, so i was close on what i was saying..
And as far as being right about the RAIDERS more often was sort of true on somethings and wrong on others..
The RAIDERS were a mess for a while, so it was an easy call to say they would stink. The last 3 years though i been hitting pretty high, if you remember what a lot of our debates centered around.

You say people need to see more from the RAIDERS? I say they seen enough to know this team can compete with any team.. This wasn't some one year wonder, we went 7-9 with a few bounces of the ball could of sneaked in a 10-6 record.. As a young team grows it gets better if you have the right players, in which case the RAIDERS seem to have those players..

cd i don't believe in the 2 year window theory. The RAIDERS will lockup their star players and build around them year in year out.. This is where a good GM earns his money by building around his max players.. Oh we will lose some players like all teams do, but we won't lose our Star players..

So the RAIDERS are VERY excited about Patterson! He's huge fast and has caught everything thrown his way is what the RAIDERS say. Listen up? While the Media hypes up other FA WRs that other teams picked up i will say Patterson will steal of the FA WR crop from this year! Oh and he's an All Pro ST player as well..
Lookout for Cook as well he's looking pretty badazz as well..

Patterson always lights up OTA's and Minicamp. This is his issue. When they are running around in shorts and t-shirts he is a star player. Once the pads go on and he has to worry about taking a hit then is when his game falls apart. Just go read reports from his time with the Vikings. Same thing happened where he would get fans excited he was going to break out then once the hitting started he disappeared back to nothing. I'm willing to bet on this one that Patterson won't have more than 500 yards receiving this year.

You also realize this past season they could have easily had a losing season right? They went something like 10-1 in 7 points or less type games. Most teams in those situations go closer to .500. Good chance you have a coming back to the medium type season as most teams do after such an anomaly.

And I never said the Raiders won't still be competitive. I don't see them going back to the 4-12 type seasons again as Carr alone is probably worth 4-6 wins just by himself. I just don't see the depth and especially ability on the defensive side of the ball to be a top tier team this year. The Raiders really didn't do much to fix the issues on the defense and if anything hurt the middle of their defense by some guys that are gone. I think teams will be able to run on them eliminating Mack from his pass rushing presence and keeping that great offense on the sideline.

I see the Raiders being great this season. Winning the division easily, and possibly even a #2 seed. Barring major injuries, or some unforeseen disaster. I think they know they are good, and adding Marshawn is adding some locker room leadership, and superbowl experience. I feel like they want to leave it all on the field for the fans, probably more than most teams this season. If they left Oakland on a highest of notes, with a superbowl, I would think most of the fans would forgive them and remain fans. More so than if they stink anyway. I was kind of puling for the Raiders last season when all this talk was just talk, but now, I'm all in!.

Patterson is like a race car that was playing on a Go Cart race track with Minny.. Im not knocking Minny cuz that's a run first and second offense that had QB turnover though out his stay there. He will now be playing in an offense built to his skill. And looks like a freakin race car in the RAIDER offense..

Im not saying Patterson will be the man in Oak, cuz this team belongs to Amari Cooper who looks like a monster! Go read up on Coop! Anyways Patterson will be a gamebreaker for us. It's not about the stats but the TDs which wins games ya know, and that's what Patterson will bring to the RAIDERS. You guys will see him up close twice this year..

I think teams will be able to run on them eliminating Mack from his pass rushing presence and keeping that great offense on the sideline.
cd you could say that about most teams as far as this team could of done this or that.. The bottom line is, good teams win close games and that's what the RAIDERS did.. To the tune of 12-4

And the RAIDERS did plenty to fix the defense cd. We have all our young returning players and more draft picks this year.. The RAIDER defense will be pretty good this year, and that's all you need in this league..

Do the RAIDERS have the best collection of offensive talent in the league?
I would have to say YES! The RAIDER offense is DEEP!!
