Walker struggled in the 5th....and gave up 2 runs.
He's at 94 pitches after 5.
Then of course Matz K'd the Mets in order. He's now at 92 pitches.


Mets trailing 3-2 heading to the 6th.
Adonis Medina will take over for Walker.

Yikes...that was on the verge of going south in a hurry...but Medina wiggled out of danger.
Mets still trail 3-2....mid 6th.

Matz is replaced by Pallante..a RHP.

Mets loaded the bases in the 6th with 1 out.
Cards went to the pen for a LHP.
Escobar switched from hitting left to batting from the right side...and whiffed on 3 pitches.
McNeil then went after the 1st pitch and popped it up.

Damn....Medina set the Cards down 1-2-3 on just 5 pitches in the top of the 7th.

Thanks to a passed ball by the Cards catcher with 2 outs on what would've been strike 3 on Escobar to end it.
McNeil then followed with the rbi single to score Lindor, who walked and moved up to 2nd on the PB.

Onto the 9th.

Trainer's Room/ Mets Moves....
Jacob deGrom had a follow-up MRI on Monday that showed progressive healing of the stress reaction in his right scapula. The team said he will continue to ramp up his throwing. ... RHP Steve Nogosek was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse and RHP Adonis Medina was added as the 27th player for the doubleheader. RHP Jake Reed was optioned to Triple-A between games, and INF Gosuke Katoh was promoted.
