Saw a comment that summed it up perfectly. At the deadline one team got Bell, Soto and Hader. The other got Vogelbach, Ruf and Naquin.
The rationale behind the Mets not going after some of those other trades was they didn’t want to mortgage the assets they have in the farm system for what likely would’ve been rental players for just a month or 2.
And I’m actually happy they didn’t go that route.
