Mets are still stuck on 1 lousy hit through 7 innings of an elimination playoff game at home...which exacerbated the crappy pitching.
Total team faceplant.
We likely weren't gonna do much against LA anyway...but that's a moot point now, except it's serves as a kind of solace to admit it.

I guess no one should have expected them to go far in the playoffs, this season kinda came out of nowhere. But still, this is hugely disappointing after winning 101 games and leading the division for pretty much the entire year.

I guess the most disappointing thing is that they couldn't even let the Padres score one more run to get me the over

Gonna be an interesting offseason that's for sure...and the winter meetings will be too.

The Mets had a guy who hit 40 homers and 131 RBI's, a SS who had 26 Hr's & 107 RBI's, a NL batting champion, the best closer in baseball, 2 CY Young award winners, the team won 101 games, and have a probable MOY candidate, but lost the division and couldn't get out of WC series.
You just can't make this shit up.

But I digress....

I'll likely but begrudgingly be rooting for the Dodgers to win the NL pennant, because of their historic roots in NY...but mainly because I dislike the other 3 remaining NL teams so much more.

As far as the AL goes...I'll pull for the Mariners & Guardians.

We had a real shot this year so it's always disappointing to fall short like that. You hope with Steve Cohen money we'll be perennial contenders but a lot of question marks for next year.

What do we do with Jake? Is Alvarez ready for a full season as catcher? Everyone a year older, hopefully some of our young guys are ready to step up next year.

Well we saw meaningful baseball after the all star break, it was a fun season. Onto the off-season. LFGM

Saw a comment that summed it up perfectly. At the deadline one team got Bell, Soto and Hader. The other got Vogelbach, Ruf and Naquin.
