Oh Boy
Mets get off the schneid finally in the 5th...on Escobar's solo shot.
:rolleyes2:
7-1.

Mets look like they have jet lag...but oddly, it's the Padres who had to fly across the country late last night.

Great job guys, showed a lot of fight. They'll probably be tired rest of the series from beating us mercilessly.

Definitely a very disappointing loss...but we'll see how they respond in a real do or die scenario tomorrow.

Mets actually outhit SD 8 - 7, but 4 of those Padres 7 hits were HR's....and all off Max.

Obviously they did their homework......and the Mets didn't.

I still blame those dumb black Friday unis too.

Can't belabor this enough.
Jake has to step up. He's due...and so is the Mets offense.

Winning 7-3...to force a 3rd and deciding game on Sunday.

The Wrap & Recap....

The Box....

The Vids....

Trainer's Room....
Oct. 8: LHP Joely Rodríguez removed from roster...
A day after setting their National League Wild Card Series roster, the Mets made a surprise substitution to it, replacing left-handed reliever Joely Rodríguez with starting pitcher Taijuan Walker. Rodríguez, who did not pitch in Game 1, is dealing with a left shoulder issue, a source confirmed. Major League Baseball's medical director confirmed the injury.
The move leaves the Mets with only one left-handed reliever, David Peterson, who spent most of the season as a starting pitcher. Other options to face lefties late in games include right-handers Seth Lugo and Edwin Díaz.
Rodríguez must miss the remainder of the Wild Card Series as well as the next round of the playoffs, meaning he is not eligible to return until the NL Championship Series.

Up Next....

The Mets will look to earn a spot in the NLDS when they face off against the Padres in Game 3 on Sunday at Citi Field. The game will be broadcast on ESPN, and the time for the first pitch will be at 7:07 p.m. ET. The Mets will have RHP Chris Bassitt on the mound, while the Padres will counter with RHP Joe Musgrove.
Musgrove (10-7, 2.93 ERA) grew up a Padres fan in the San Diego suburbs and signed a $100 million, five-year contract with his hometown team this season. Bassitt went 15-9 with a 3.42 ERA in his first season with the Mets after coming over in a trade with Oakland, where he pitched for (current SD mgr) Bob Melvin.
