Mets RHP Carlos Carrasco is slated to make his New York debut on Friday in the opener of a three-game series against the visiting Cincinnati Reds. Carrasco, acquired from the Cleveland Indians in January, has been out all year with a right hamstring injury. Cincy plans to go with RHP Sonny Gray (2-6, 4.50 ERA).

Mets Friday Night Blackout Lineup vs Cincinnati (Gray)

Cookie gave up a solo HR on the 1st pitch to the 1st batter he faced to begin the game.
Mets answered on Jeff (stay hot dude) McNeil's rbi double to plate Nimmo in the bottom half.

1-1 after 2.

Carrasco is probably on a strict pitch count tonight.
So far through 4 innings he's thrown 58 pitches.
Depending on how the 5th goes...that could be his last inning tonight.
Then again, they might want to stretch him through 6...depending on the count +/or in game situation.

Well that got cleared up fast.....
Carrasco pulled after 4....and it's probably for the best.

His line:

Miguel Castro is now in to begin the 5th.

So after Castro gives up a 2 out double which prompted a mound visit...he went ahead and gave up an rbi single anyway to give the Reds a 2-1 lead.....then he got the 3rd out.

Well so far this "blackout" Friday night has been a dud.
Offense has been too busy slumbering or practicing their golf swings to actually give a crap against these scrubs from Ohio.
What a joke. Mets down 3-1 after 8.

Hopefully Javier Baez will help....and he needs to be in the lineup tomorrow.
