Wow....Mets somehow managed to hold on for a 2-1 win.

It was the Mets 100th game of the season.

I'm very pleasantly surprised....
Thanks in part by Michael Conforto's throw from RF to gun down the potential tying run at home in the 9th to save Diaz' ass. One thing about Conforto, is when he's not producing with the bat..he more than makes up for it with stellar defense.
Also by Familia for not giving in, but staying steady and stranding 2 inherited runners in the 8th.
Props to Trevor May as well for pitching a much needed solid inning in the 7th.

Different day...same struggles continue.

Nimmo leadoff walk....Alonso K'd.
Smith singled....Mets had 1st & 3rd with 1 out.
JD Davis K'd still practicing his golf swing.
McCann fought off some tough pitches during an 11 pitch AB.....but he also K'd


No score after 1.

With 2 outs..Drury singles.
Which begs the question...why was Tai Walker bunting there??
He bunted right back to the mound for out #3.
I guess he thought there was only 1 out?



0-0 heading to the 3rd.

Mets scored a run in the 3rd...Nimmo doubled and Dom singled him in.
Walker couldn't throw a shutdown frame in the top of the 4th.
Braves scored 3 times....with a 2 run HR...and a solo shot.

Mets down 3-1....mid 4th.

Mets 4th:
McCann singled leading off.
Conforto GIDP.
Villar singled.....then Drury singled.
But Tai Walker, just as he did in the 2nd.... was bunting with 2 outs once again.
Only this time he bunted foul with 2 strikes for out #3.
I swear...I wish I was making this up...but unfortunately I'm not.



Mets trail 3-1 after 4.

And of course Atlanta is tacking on in he 5th...due in part to Mets ineptitude.
They now lead 5-1.

Personally, I think Walker is a head case and loses focus easily....and he's been crap for about a month now.
Not even sure why he was left in to bat in the last inning..other than to save the pen??
What good is that if he continues to give up runs anyway??

The Phillies lost the 1st game of their DH to the Nats just a bit ago.

Meanwhile...it's 6-3 Braves, middle of the 8th in this one.
Mets have some work to do with only 6 outs left.

That golf swing JD Davis keeps using is not getting any better.
He now has the hat trick.

Conforto (2 K's) obviously didn't want to get one too....so he flied out on the 1st pitch.
