Trainer's Room....

Mets RHP Trevor May (triceps inflammation) pitched Saturday and Sunday for Triple-A Syracuse. Buck Showalter said May could be activated as early as Wednesday.
C James McCann (left oblique strain) homered for Double-A Binghamton during a rehab assignment Sunday and could be activated as soon as Thursday.
Showalter said 1B/DH Dominic Smith (right ankle sprain) could begin a rehab assignment later this week.
New York sent RHP R.J. Alvarez outright to Syracuse.

I really didn't care where he ended up. SD is spending a fortune to become a WC team.
Glad we didn't cave and give up the prospects for what will likely be a rental anyway.

Looks like the Mets will be quiet on the trade front...at least to this point.
I hear the FO is backing away from the Cubs & Contreras now too...but are still talking with Boston about a possible Dom Smith deal?

It's so uncanny that whenever deGrom starts, the Mets bats struggle badly to give him any run support, even minimal..no matter who they face....be it an ace, a call up, a back end starter, or a scrub...or if the other team is a contender or bottom feeder.
