Ummmmm I hope there's nothing wrong health wise with Megill.
He just gave up a 3 run HR in the 2nd....it's now 8-3...and he's pushing 60 pitches.
I wonder if he prefers pitching to McCann like he was for most of his prior starts.
Nido was primarily Max's battery mate but now he uses McCann. Maybe Buck is toiling with different looks?
If so, that's not working out so well.
And now he's out.....Trevor Williams takes over in the 2nd.
Something's up....hope nothing serious.

NBA playoffs...here I come.
Check back later.

Mets drop the middle game 8-3.

Silver Lining:
Trevor Williams relieved Megill and worked 3 2/3 scoreless innings, followed by Stephen Nogosek, who tossed three hitless innings in his first appearance this season. Combined, they didn't allow a hit after the 3rd inning.

Up Next:
Rubber game matinee on Thursday.
New York's Taijuan Walker (0-0, 4.91 ERA) and Washington's Joan Adon (1-5, 6.99) are the scheduled starters.

Gary & Keith were just talking about the Daily News article on Pete's notebook....

Pretty good read...

Also...Lugo is now on for the bottom of the 8th.

Seth Lugo tossed a 1-2-3 8th. (2 K's)

Mark Canha hit a solo jack in the 9th.
4-0 Mets.

Edwin Diaz comes in to shut this one down.

edit...
After striking out the 1st 2 batters, he surrendered solo HR...then got a pop up in LF foul territory to end it.

Mets win 4-1 and take 2 of 3
....and heading home for a weekend series with the Mariners.

They are now 9-0-1 in their 10 series this season.

Amazin'

Interesting from yesterday:

I was actually thinking something along those lines too.
If that's true...then Megill, along with pitching coach Jeremy Hefner, Mgr Buck Showalter and perhaps a few other pitchers need to look at and study the game film frame for frame to see what actually occurred so they can correct it so it doesn't happen again. Other teams scouts get paid to look for stuff like that....and anything to give their side the advantage.
Maybe Megill needs to alter his delivery time +/or motion.
Hopefully they'll figure it out and make the adjustments if needed.

Magic Maz became a bit of a spark plug and fan fave last year. Hope it continues.

Sucks that McCannon will be on the shelf for those 6 weeks though...if not more.
I can only wonder how long the front office will take until they consider calling up Francisco Alvarez.

From last year.....
