Mets lead it 7-2 at the stretch.
Tai Walker went 5 and gave up 2 runs.
Holderman pitched 2 scoreless in relief.
Getting good production up & down the order.
Guillorme is 3 for 3 batting in the leadoff spot.
McNeil hit a 3 run blast. Lindor has 2 ribeyes.
Pete & Dom also each knocked in a run.

edit:
Lindor just knocked in another run to make it an 8-2 game.

The Wrap & Recap....

The Box....

The Vids....

Trainer's Room....
CF Brandon Nimmo had an MRI on his right wrist that came back clean, but was held out of the lineup. Showalter said he expected Nimmo might get an injection, but he doesn't anticipate New York's leadoff hitter will miss significant time

Up Next....
New York RHP Chris Bassitt (4-2, 3.91) will start the series finale on Sunday night.
Former Mets pitcher Zack Wheeler (3-3, 3.38) starts for the Phillies.

Mets Sunday Night Lineup vs Phillies (Wheeler)

I hope Plummer is up for the task, as he's replacing a hot bat (McNeil)...and hopefully Nimmo's hand/wrist injury doesn't require an extended time off. Maybe it's just to give them both a day off/rest.

Mets put up 3 in the 1st...and lead it 3-0 in the 3rd.
But after a playable fly ball was botched for a double (that should've been ruled an error by Plummer in LF)...the Phils now have the bases loaded after Bassitt walked the next 2 batters.... and there are still no outs.

edit:
Mets turned a DP 4-6-3, but a run scored.
3-1 Mets....
and now Bassitt walked Harper.
2 down runners at the corners.
His pitch count is really climbing in this inning alone.

Mets still lead it 3-1 after 5 1/2.
Bassitt ended the frame on his 100th pitch....so his day is likely done.

Wheeler is pushing 100 too....and the bottom half will likely be his last inning too.

LGM!

Yikes...with 2 outs, Drew Smith tried stop a single up the middle...but deflected it, and may have dislocated a finger in the process.
J-Rod is now in to get out of the inning.

Edit:
JROD threw 1 pitch and got a ground ball out.

Mets 3 - Phils 1 at the stretch.

Let's hope it isn't too serious, the Mets already have enough injured players this season. Amazingly, they still have a comfortable lead in their division.

If he lets that ball go through.....no harm.
But that didn't look good. He could be out a few weeks.

Ugh, Ottaviano needs to go. Honestly throw some kid out there, don't care at this point. Also wish we had Lugo available instead of using him yesterday in a blowout.
