Mets Friday Lineup vs Phillies (Falter)
Good to see the squirrel in the lineup.
Thought for sure he was gonna be out with a knee injury.

2 on rbi sac flies (Pete & Esco)....and a clutch 2 out rbi single by Canha after he fouled off like 7 or 8 pitches.

3-0 Mets heading to the 2nd.

edit..now 7-3...with 2 outs.

And then after a 2 out walk....Buck pulls Cookie and calls for Shreve to face the lefty hitter.

Ummmm.
Well that moved backfired badly.
Shreve just gave up a 3 run HR.



It's now a 7-6 game...middle of the 6th.
What was once a comfortable lead and winnable game...is gonna be up for grabs now heading into the late innings.

Mets got 1 of those runs back to give them an 8-6 lead heading to the 7th.

Drew Smith coming in for the 7th.
He and the other guys in the pen need to step up here.


Ugghh.... he gives up a leadoff walk....and those pitches weren't even close.
I'm sure this will end well.....

Trainer's Room....
Mets OF Travis Jankowski is expected to miss 6-8 weeks because of a broken left hand. He had surgery and a screw was inserted. Showalter said Jankowski appeared to get hurt while making a diving catch.
RHP Jacob deGrom (shoulder) threw on flat ground before the game. He will travel with the team when it begins a road trip to the West Coast in early June. The two-time Cy Young Award winner hasn't pitched this season.


Mets Moves....
Right-handed reliever Yoan López had his three-game suspension cut to one game and served the penalty. He was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse before the game and sat out. MLB ruled that he intentionally threw at Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber on May 1.


Up Next....
NYM RHP Taijuan Walker (2-0, 2.70) will start the middle game on Saturday and is going for his first home win since last June 15. He'll face Phillies RHP Zach Eflin (1-3, 3.65 ERA) He is 3-5 with a 5.03 ERA in 14 career starts against the Mets.
