90% of you never come into contact with Native Americans nor are you Native American...please stop talking.
My gf is 25% Native American and looks at least 50% but she has no idea that Washington even has a football team so that might be moot.

I grew up right outside the Muckleshoot reservation. I don't think those Natives give a shit about the team name because, well, they have lives. But when people act like the term Redskin is a source of pride or term of endearment, I have to laugh. Go to your nearest Rez, call some guys Redskin and see if you don't get some teeth knocked out.
There are many reservations that will get your teeth knocked out or worse just for being there.

Sorry, but this is a stupid comment.

Thankfully I've never come into contact with Uranus either, but I can have a conversation about all of the guys who have spend hours probing it can't I:thumb:

Just saying it's hilarious when a group of people that aren't Native American and rarely interact with Native Americans talk about how Native Americans should feel about a certain subject.

So, like all the white people who are screaming for a name change even though 90% of actual Native Americans couldn't care less?

Given the atrocities inflicted, I would defer to the 10% (if that's even truly accurate). Just my opinion.

It's always a bad idea to acquiesce to the vocal minority.

There are always exceptions. Those who were oppressed fall into that category for me.

Didn't we have a sociologist from CSU a while back get a 67% number for indigenous individuals finding the term "Redskin" offensive?

Wouldn't it be better to deal with actual issues that affect their lives rather than make a meaningless name change?

Not for me to decide. Why does it need to be one or the other?

Look...if this isn't respecting their heritage, then I don't know what is:
