Per Jerry Dipoto, the Mariners had planned to move Stephen Vogt to a bench coach role before he was hired to manage the Guardians. They’d moved Tony Arnerich to bullpen coach and will look to add 2 more coaches to their MLB staff, including a hitting coach to join Jarrett DeHart

I don’t really get Cleveland signing Vogt. What am I missing with him? No real experience, I get catchers generally make good managers but it’s just weird that Cleveland wanted him real bad. I know I’d prefer him over Servais but I know that isn’t a rational thought. But I think with Servais’ comments on Cal, he is going to have to mend fences cause a manager is suppose to be neutral between the FO and players and he firmly planted his flag with the front office.

I also think it is odd timing that he says that about Vogt after he leaves and there was no mention of changes before he left.
