I guess if he walks we would recoup a draft pick as well. The other thing I judge a trade on is what else did we do? To make this trade and do nothing else, is a waste to me. Make this trade and then add a couple more legit players to the lineup and I will party in the streets. So I am waiting for the full context before judging I guess.

That is fair especially taking on his salary if they can’t “afford” to fill the other glaring holes on offense. I’d like Soto but I’d rather they not have holes all over the offense, which also is kind of the risk of signing Ohtani if Stanton and Co don’t massively raise the payroll (which is still their fault that they have to because they didn’t raise it when all of their young guys were cheap)

Prove it or not but trust me when I say most fans would hate him by June. He's not a bad dude, just a mediocre ball player with horrible defensive skills.

Does his bat just play well there? I guess I’m only really looking at stats. The M’s need to upgrade first base but IMO it can’t be a drastic drop off defensively at 1B so I guess he should be taken off the list.

His bat does well for about a 2 week period. He'll launch a bunch of HR's during that time frame and pretty much a ghost before and after his 2 week hot streak. He's a below average fielder. This is a hard pass.

300.hitters in the league .those are.2.

FO is going to have to make a hard run at those 2 with yankees/dodgers/rangers in the mix.
