I could understand the reps but it’s not like any of the starters play full games. IMO it doesn’t make any sense for Young to be in camp if Emerson isn’t. Don’t want Young taking reps from Bliss and Tucker since those two are first up if something goes wrong with Polanco I guess would be rebuttal.

From some notes by some writers, Young might have a legit shot this year even if it is a long shot. I think that is a big part of it. Also a reward to those who took the big step last year I am sure plays a part.

Young has no business being in the majors this year he has 0 experience in double AA and he is also a 20 year old kid. I do believe that inviting him to Spring Training and giving him some experience with major league pitching is good for his development.
