Jerry "apologizes" and "clarifies" what he meant by the "54%" and "doing fans a favor" comments.

He's so full of shit all I imagine is (insert a dozen poop emojis here) all over the floor wherever he's speaking.

My favorite 2 quotes that he spoke within moments of each other:

"Acquiring a big star from outside is also contingent on the big star, so I can’t guarantee you when that will happen."

"...to think that you’re going to predict (when) we will win the World Series is silly."

Okay idiot. Yes, we know there is no guarantee that signing big FA will contribute to winning a WS, and that there's no way to predict when a team will win a WS. That doesn't mean you don't bother using FA acquisitions to improve a team.

The only thing I will say is that we have a history of signing FA position players who figure out that this team is going nowhere real fast, and then ride out their Seattle contract doing the minimum while they earn their millions and wait to get to an org that knows what the fuck it's doing.

I think..Jedi..was .ok there..I know..he is right..

.but..strike outs .won't help.
Ya gota get. Rid..of them..

Witch means..Hernandez..and Suarez.
And get..guys. Who can hit for..
A better .ave..without so many strike outs..

Cuz ya
Can't..get rid .
Of
Julio..who strikes out plenty.
Kelenic...same
Or.

The excessive.strike outs..are what..kept.
The mariners..from the playoffs.

Replace those..with hits..
And maybe go.to the world series

The mariners could trade for anyone.
With there good pitching..
but then.
They would not have it..and that would defeat..the whole thing..
But it does not take that .to get..indea..
Or.
Garcia..

And.eloy Jimenez .is the younger better
Version,..of Hernandez...

But loardes gurriel.is a free agent who.would work....as well

That said..Rojas..is back to himself..
Hit a 245.for the season
And for seattle a 272 that is the kind of guys.
Seattle needs.
Rojas has never been a hr hitter....
But..
He hits for a good ave...and.gitting.an indea..
A2b ..
With a 3b profile..20 hrs.not excessive.
Strike outs.

.would work..while trading...suarez

Suarez is the least of our problems. 14th in MLB salary for 3B. I wouldn't even call him a problem. 20 homers, almost 100 RBI, and most of his above replacement SABR stats is worth $11 mill/year in the current market, IMO. Next year is the final year of his contract where he can show that he's worth the $15 million club option in 2025, so he'll be extra motivated considering he did have a down year this year compared to last, which was one of his career best years. He's also a workhorse who played in every single game this year.

But ...has .excessive strike outs...
There can .be..only..so .many..strike outs.

Then they take away .from hits .
Ave..is..what..drives in runs .
Basicly..replacing..Suarez..
With indea..
And Rojas.....indea is better...going forward

Not sure if you herd Teo speak about coming back after the last game but I found his wording interesting. He said he loves Seattle, the players, and the organization, but he says it isn't up to him. My brain tells me the offer they made him after the traded for him was laughable. Maybe I am overly cynical.
To be fair though his value dropped laughably after last season.

I don't know it did. Teams understand the Mariners factor and always think they can return the guy to his former glory. 25/93 for a Mariner is rare air. I think he gets a nice 3/$45M deal.

Isn’t the QO like $20 million?

No idea, I remember we all had this discussion in spring and I thought the numbers being tossed out $25 million a year….but could be wrong

I think wazzu was meaning that if his final year in TOR (2022) was as good as his 2021 All Star year, he would've been able to get more than 1 year for $14 mill or whatever with the M"s this year.

Dump Dipoto and his Manager buddy Servais.
There are only two ways I could see this happening, since the FO themselves don't want to give us the satisfaction:

One is an investigation by MLB, much like what they did with the Dodgers a few years ago. After that happened, they turned their game around and really started making a difference.

The other? Well, let's just say I would still trust people here to run things instead of these slackers. How they get in there to do it...they can plan it.

the QO for 2024 will probably be a little over $20 mill. so we either offer that (unlikely) and get a compensatory draft pick if he refuses it, or we do a multiyear contract offer for (i'm assuming) at least $15 mill/year to get him to stay as NW suggested. if i'm wrong about this, please tell me.

A report from MLB Trade Rumors showed that the 2024 qualifying offer will come in at around $20.5 million. Texas has several players that will become free agents: Martin Perez, Will Smith, Robbie Grossman, Travis Jankowski, Austin Hedges, Brad Miller, Ian Kennedy, and Mitch Garver.

I was thinking $18M so I was a little shy of it. So QO him and he may take it. Not sure he gets close to that per year on a multiple year offer. I stick with 3/$45M. Maybe as high as $50M. It should be interesting to see.

I have a feeling he gets QO'd and doesn't sign with someone until after the QO expires giving us nothing. The same thing Morales did.
