I don’t understand the point of claiming someone right now. Losing O’Keefe is whatever but it’s not Ort has a chance at even making to spring with the club. I guess I don’t get the point, is it to make a move just to make a move? The rebuild begins...

News: Mariners announce they've claimed RHP Kaleb Ort off waivers from the Red Sox; catcher Brian O’Keefe was designated for assignment by the Mariners to clear the 40-man roster spot.
No chance in hell Dipoto would sign him. That was my point. Ownership, and in this case, Dipoto wanted a lackey. No way he gets someone that would challenge him. And thus, here we are.He was available at the end of 2019 until 2022. You can’t tell me the M’s can’t convince him out of retirement but the Rangers can? The M’s were in fact closer to winning than the Rangers prior to the Seager signing. Bochy would likely get them over that hump.
Given the core of young players from the system on their way up. To me that's an enticing gig. But, they truly want to keep Servais. Maybe it is true no one wants to come here.
I guess I am at the point that replacing Kelenic may need to happen anyway. I guess my patience has run out on him. Maybe the foot injury zapped some power, but he looked powerless. Of course I don't believe for one second that Dip could bring anyone of value so it really doesn't matter.I’m just meaning in terms of they would have to subtract Kelenic. Isn’t a deal breaker or anything but they already have to figure out to replace Teo and then trying to replace another started, IMO, would be risky. They already have holes at 2B and 3B that they refuse to admit.
For sure if they want they could sign Snell (though for some reason I think they don’t want Snell). I’m not opposed to your idea, I’m just not confident in the front office legitimately trying to replace Teo so doubling non confident in them fielding a major league outfield if Kelenic is traded.
Agreed. Knowing how this goes, he will be DFA'd before spring. Just odd.I don’t understand the point of claiming someone right now. I do like the trade you proposed, I just don’t have any faith in the FO replacing Kelenic. To me, it doesn’t matter how great the staff is, if they go into the season without a LF, RF, 1B, 2B, 3B or DH it is kind of pointless. But I am bias as I still really have faith in Jared for some reason.I guess I am at the point that replacing Kelenic may need to happen anyway. I guess my patience has run out on him. You should. I should. I just can't. But is value isn't worth trading anyways so I expect to be disappointed one more year with I'm. So crazy how the league built him up and he has disappointed yet Texas has that kid who I never paid attention to and is now carrying them in the playoffs. Baseball is weird. Mariners are unlucky. But I am bias as I still really have faith in Jared for some reason.
