There comes a point that you have to be able to realize that sunk costs are just that. Contract size and length shouldn't be a huge factor when it comes to roster and lineup decisions. If they do become deciding factors then you aren't playing to win as much as you are to keep certain players happy. Keeping baseball politics out of the decision making process can help in the standings when the standings actually become important.

I do not understand that in a tie game and in the 9th and a guy on 1st with your worst hitter at the plate in Wisdom why would you not bunt the runner into scoring position. That made no baseball sense at all.

Odor was not playing well before his injury. Therefore Santana deserves the job but not till Odor has a try and earn the job. In the meantime, bench Deshields and see if Santana can earn a job in CF.

If you polled the rangers fan base, probably 60-70% of them would hate the Odor contract. At least, the knowledgeable fans would.

Would like to see Odor given a chance for a few weeks, but if he stinks it up and is the worst player on the team ( like he was before injury) then something obviously needs to happen.

He’s already got the damn contract and it’s put up or shut up time in my opinion. He’s gotta show us something, we can’t keep babying him and giving him preferential treatment. We’re playing the game at the very highest level. This is ridiculous.
