In the last 30 games 2E is hitting .258....better lately. ...

No, it's not better of late. I presume this is 2E's last 30, not Tigers. If Tigers last 30, then that's not right. He hit .216 in August, which is just about 30 games, and he never climbs above .250 if Tigers' last 30 games went as far back as July 27. If 2E's last 30, it's possible as that goes to slightly before AS break and he did ok the week before the AS break. He has played 26 games since AS break and is hitting .203 with one XBH in that time. He will lose those pre-AS break games over the next few days. If he doesn't do well, his 30 game rate will plummet shortly. So, not hitting better lately. Quite the contrary. That .258 is being carried by what he did in first week of July.

That chops off the 8/2 and 8/3 games, where he was 0-5.

We're splitting hairs here. If you look at his game-by-game, he is NOT getting better. He has a 2-4 on 8/12 and again on 8/24 that are the only things keeping his average even that high. 8-37 in August or 8-32 in Tigers' last 30, both with NO XBH's. Neither is impressive at all.

Too aggressive there. That's our catcher rounding 3B not our center fielder. ..

No problem if you still have some faith. I don't. His track record coming into the season was pathetic (couldn't even hit in the Pacific Coast League; that's bad!), and his batting average and overall contributions at the plate have been plummeting. I had no faith in him coming into the season, but was pleasantly surprised by his great start. But I feel that now he is showing his true stripes, and why Seattle finally gave up on him after eight years in their system in 2011. If he was any good, he'd still be in Seattle. They could certainly use the help.

I hope you're right, because it will only help the Tigers.

Thank the good Lord we can pitch and hit....and field. Overall team speed and arm strength aren't strong suits.

I get that with 2 outs you force the Red Sox to make 2 good throws. but, with AJ coming up I think you have to give him the chance.

Someday soon, when he's the manager, we may even see the Tigers swipe 50 bags in a season. I know it sounds crazy, but it's possible.

matt T has to go. platooning with dirks against lefties and hitting 243 against lefties. Thats before tonights 0 for 3. Shouldn't the platoon guy hit more than that. Dirks hits 250 against lefties. just put Andy out there if JL is afraid to let Nick get a shot.

ah yes september call up baseball. just an insane amount of pitching changes. only in MLB do the rules change for the last 30 games of the season. Then the playoffs come and back to regular baseball.
