I took the Perez addition before the first as a cautionary measure for Infante and Miggy. They could both be re-injured, or what have you. But I assume Ramon is a lock. Given his tenure(Leyland love) his switch hitting and the ability to play three infield spots. Don't take that as me supporting Ramon, I'm just being realistic.

Agree. It'll be interesting to see who is left off the playoff roster. I would expect that they'll go down to 11 pitchers as Ricky can fill the Bonderman role. So could just add Peralta for a pitcher and be done. My gut says it isn't that simple. I really think he might want Perez on the post-season roster, because of his PR ability. Note that they brought him up just before the Aug 31 deadline to establish post-season eligibility (along with Coke ... ugh!!!). Certainly that makes Santiago vulnerable. Ramon is better than most like to give him credit for, but he obviously isn't irreplaceable. And/or, there's 2E. I believe the only way 2E misses the post-season is if Nicky C gets some sort of opportunity in Sept and goes nuts with it. Leyland will want a righty OF option in post-season. Either 2E or Nicky C will be on the post-season roster. Unfortunately, right now it's 2E, which is a waste of a spot as he has reverted to being, well, himself in the last two months.

From a baseball standpoint, Peralta is the easy choice but I still don't think Ilitch will go there. Anybody know when JP is eligible to come back? If I had to guess right now I would go with Hernan Perez. Speed is something that is definitely lacking and they did call Perez up on the 31st for a reason.

You could very well be right, smitty. Leyland is certainly loyal to a fault.

I'm going from memory, so I could be off by a game or two. But I believe he is eligible to play last three games of the regular season.

What the heck am I thinking ... Nicky C was brought up on Sept 1, so he isn't eligible for post-season. (Though, is he eligible to replace a player that is on post-season roster and then removed? Not sure if such replacements are open to anyone that played before Sept 1, or at anytime during the season?) That pretty well locks 2E onto the post-season roster ... unfortunately.

I said it a while ago.. I just don't see Peralta coming back.... He can work out with the team right now... just needs to leave before the game starts... and he is not around.. take from that what you want... Cruz is working out with the Rangers...

If Nick C shows some life at the plate the Tigers will find a way to get him on the roster. I believe he can be an injury replacement and obviously MT must have suffered an eye injury. He could not see the ball all night long!

I don't think it will even be a hard decision to leave him off and put Jhonny P back on. Whether he's ever in left or not wouldn't matter. He's an actual hitter off the bench. And we don't really have any of those. (No offense to Bryan Pena)

Im calling it!!!

Jhonny p in LF come playoffs.....he can cover just as much ground as 2E.....everytime 2E ran for a fly ball, he looked just like a softball LF running in to catch it.

Get jhonny snagging some fly balls ASAP...show a little versatility jhonny. :laugh3:

Got my Vcash down on Ricky for tonight. The Sauwks like to make you throw strikes, and that's what Kid Rick does. Looking forward to him using that curve of his while he's ahead in the count tonight. (I also took the over)

I had never bet on here. Always see u guys talking about it. Was bored yesterday and found it....bet 75 on the sox and 75 on the under....not too bad for a first time bet...

OK can JP even be put on the playoff roster?

Does suspended inactive list allow him to be on it without roster juggling of injured players?

Yes. Suspended is treated same way as DL. If on one of these lists on Aug 31, they are eligible for post-season roster.

I put a little on the Cards and As today as well. (As are a homedog tonight facing Darvish) I put a little on St Louis yesterday, but they didn't feel like scoring.... So that didn't work out. And I didnt reach the 900 mark ive been waiting for since about the AllStar break. I really like the VBookie. A lot more than I liked VinnyDaBookie. He bothered me more than iffy. I miss them both about the same. (Not at all)

I actually like Ricky's chances tonight. He's got the defensive lineup, sort of. And I'm feeling a little Prince production tonight. Just a feeling though. And with the weather changing, it could just be the arthritis.
