Today's start by Jack Leiter is also an indictment on Owen White's development. I guess you can throw Cole Winn's development as a starter in there as well. They both should have been legitimate options before Leiter.

On that same note, Mitch Bratt and Brock Porter have both been disappointing to start the season. We sure need those guys to get things straightened out soon. Couple those guys' struggles with injuries to Stephan and Corniell and it makes for a rather dismal start to the season for our young pitching prospects.

Which move will the Rangers make to make room for Leiter on the 40-man? Burke to the 60-day seems to be the easiest. There are a few moves they could eventually make though.

I wish they could have waited until Leiter was a little further along in his development before they brought him up. As long as this is just a spot start I guess it won't set him back. Hopefully, it gives him a taste of what it is like and gives him an idea about what he needs to work on.

I hope he gives us 5 innings. If he can do that while allowing no more than 4 runs I will be satisfied. If it goes bad, that won't mean anything about his future though. I will be optimistic and say he goes 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks while striking out 4.

I would hope he has more strike outs and less walks This is the progress advertised

But as long as he goes after the Tigers and shows poise it will be good
