After 53 games split over 3 seasons in sheltered starts and back up duties.

=)~~

I think we do see Portillo finally this season, he will get a cup of coffee. My guess, towards the end of the season when it's clear LA won't make the POs.

Isnt it sad that the top 3 worst contracts are either current or ex Kings? Granted the Kings werent part of the Korpisalo contact but he wore the sweater at some point.

Are we ready to put a dunce cap on Buster yet? Watched the replay last night against SJ, completely MIA. Looking like 2021 Buster, I think view from the press box is due. May ignite him again.

Laferriere removed from L1 and producing, Buster licking his dick being elevated back to L1.

While I wouldn't have issue with QB sitting for a game (or two) to do a reset....have a feeling that the team (as a whole) is pretty much confused with what Hiller is trying to get them to do. I get that Hiller is trying to see what combos work, but his tinkering with the lines and D pairings is getting ridiculous....almost taking the page from Blake in "throw every dart at the board, and see which one(s) hit the bullseye". Now, QB should plant his ass in front of the goalie more often, especially on the PP, rather than trying to take the puck from the D zone and just blow by people all the time...

Hello moots. Now that the Dodgers won the World Series and their season is over, I’ve switched hats and can now concentrate on the Kings.

Laferriere and Clarke getting some love from TA, Top 10 Under the Radar Young players. They didn't have them 1-10 but Laferriere at 8 and Clarke at 10. Stats were posted prior to last night againat Vegas:

Alex Laferriere, RW, Los Angeles Kings

Age: 23

Draft status: No. 83 pick in 2020

Stats: 10 GP, 5G-3A-8P, 15:33 ATOI

How he’s looked: Laferriere is big, fast and has a non-stop motor that he uses to play a direct, assertive style. He’s done a lot of dirty work to win battles and get the puck back for his line. When his skilled linemates have possession, he consistently finds lanes to get open for shots and Grade-A chances.

Finishing was often the challenge for Laferriere last year when he produced a modest 12 goals and 11 assists in 81 games as a rookie. That hasn’t held him back this time, as he’s raced to five goals and three assists in 10 games, with all of his production coming at five-on-five.

Laferriere’s speed is arguably his best asset. He ranks in the 87th percentile of all forwards for speed bursts above 20 miles per hour this season. Here’s an example of him stealing a puck on the backcheck and then using his pace to score on the counterattack.

(Ottawa goal video here)

He’s also scored a couple of his goals because of deflections in high-traffic areas. Laferriere may not have the purest skill or creativity, but he profiles like a speedy, high-energy top-nine grinder.

Brandt Clarke, RD, Los Angeles Kings

Age: 21

Draft status: No. 8 pick in 2021

Stats: 10 GP, 1G-7A-8P, 18:07 ATOI

How he’s looked: When Drew Doughty went down with a long-term injury in preseason, the spotlight immediately shifted to Clarke and Jordan Spence. Many (including myself) figured that these two would have to eat top-four minutes to compensate for the loss of Doughty, who ranked second among all NHL players in averaging 25:48 last season, on the right side. Vladislav Gavrikov has shifted to the right side and successfully handled a massive workload, so the Kings haven’t had to lean on Clarke as heavily as I expected (I thought he might end up being closer to averaging 20 minutes per game), but the 2021 top-10 pick is still off to a good start in a key role.

Clarke has replaced Doughty as the first power-play unit quarterback and racked up eight points in 10 games. He’s raw defensively, which is normal for a rookie, but his offensive skill, creativity and puck-moving are already starting to shine.

The Kings are generating more shots, scoring chances and actual goals than they’re giving up during Clarke’s five-on-five minutes, which is a good outcome considering his matchups haven’t been overly sheltered.

Doesn't even look like Quick, strange.

Just had a friend of friend come by and pick up a long sleeve NY Giants shirt from me, the two two are going as Rachel and Monica from Friends tonight at a party. One good thing about Halloween is the inner slut comes out in some women. Great eye candy.

TA on franchise valuations, Kings rank fifth at $2.5 billion which is up 45% from last year. That is an insane number. TO remains first at $3.66 billion, up 38% from last season. The BJs are dead last - no surprise there - at $1.06 billion, up 20%.

Interestingly, the Kings are the most valuable non Original Six franchise.

TA with each team's biggest concern one month into the season. Most of us have said this already, but Buster is now officially on the hot seat:

Los Angeles Kings

Quinton Byfield’s slow start: Byfield is without a goal over the first 11 contests. He’s chipped in five assists, but it’s not the kind of beginning he or the Kings imagined after the sides agreed on a five-year extension worth $31.25 million. His advanced metrics aren’t bad, and the Kings haven’t done him any favors by committing to return him to his natural position at center and abandoning that just five games in. It’s possible that he bounces between the middle and the wing, which may not be great for maintaining consistency or chemistry with his linemates. The worry with him offensively is that he’s had a tendency to fall into lengthy scoring droughts. Even in his breakout last season, the 22-year-old went 19 games without a goal before he scored his 20th in the regular-season finale. — Eric Stephens

It's why I've said I'm not overly impressed with his 55 points last season, he gets them in bunches and goes stone cold for long streaks. Somehow Laferriere is making things happen no matter who his linemates are, I hope Buster feels the heat internally.

Still say those t5 picks you dont get hoping they develope. They should be darn near NHL ready and able to contribute right away and build from that year to year and your trying to win while those guys are cheap.

Dumbo was a master at this, look at the Cup teams. He absolutely maximized their ELCs and had mid level solid players salary wise. He knew exactly what he was doing, it's really impressive when you dig deep.

You have guys like Nolan and King making peanuts but solidified the lineup. Williams making $3.75 million, Kopitar at $6.7 million or whatever, Doughty at $7 million. That's how you ice a championship caliber team, guys making money but nothing over the top.

Bowlby thinks you just throw money at someone and thinks it'll work, clearly it hasn't.

Blowby couldn’t pick a winner in a one horse race, what makes you think that he can draft?
I also think that this team is overachieving. They’re a banana peel away from falling apart.

popping in real quick to say they should go 11/7 tonight. Not sure if Turcotte is out or not. He sat out the 3rd last night.
If he's available and healthy then sit Lewis and go 11 forwards and 7D
