Nice win, but bittersweet losing Earl ...

Injuries have been tough on this team this season and the end of last season.

As far as tonight goes i want to see 40 points to take some of the sting off how BAD this offense has been for most of this season.

Cam Newton is a quitter, In almost every game where they are behind big you can see his total disinterest in his face. If i was the Panthers i would trade his ass for as much as you get. SO MANY teams would over pay for him.

So happy we have Russ, Hawks could be down 40 and he would lead them to either a come back win or at least get them close lol. Such a total winner unlike Cam.

I missed out on the early part of the first quarter, so I'm curious:

Did they boo Newton hard the moment he first stepped out on the field? I'm sure a lot of the 12th Man were still down on him for his antics when they beat us in the playoffs last year, like taking the 12 flag and stomping on it?

Tough blow for sure. Hopefully the SeHawks can compensate for it.

Agreed, we can't replace Earl obviously, but I'm just hoping like heck someone can step in and do a solid job...

Yes they booed him, and it was a pretty loud boo but it wasn't one that lasted very long or was some big thing.

Was great Seeing Lynch on the sidelines, this needs to be talked about more. Also 40-7 win, the Hawks need to bring him to EVERY game lol. The Beastmode on the sidelines made the Running game a BEAST even if he didn't play :P lol

Well other than the first play after the injury (good coaching by Rivera there), Terrell seemed to do okay. Even had the pick that was nullified by penalty.

I agree that the retirement talk was most likely an emotional thought that went through his mind because he's never been through an injury like this. He didn't even miss a start in his career until last week and now he's going to miss the rest of the season at least. It'd be a lot to take in for a guy as passionate as Earl and it's only natural that thoughts of his career being over would pop into his head. I don't think he'll retire.

Happy about the win but the Panthers Oline is almost as bad as the Hawks and we had ZERO, ZIP, NADA, NULL sacks. First game all year that the Panthers with Cam starting gave up 0 sacks.

coincidence with Bennett starting? possibly but it's still a thing. He also did a great job blocking Clark on one of the best spin moves i have ever seen knocking Clark down and bringing his blocker back into him after those two ran a stunt. Time to take away his ad-lib ability.

P.S. Bennett DID NOT line up offsides. The Kick was downed in the endzone making the LoS the 25 Yard line. His hand was not even touching the 25 and his head was behind where his hand was. The Refs some how had the ball placed on the 25 and 1/3rd yard line. Did ANYONE else notice this?

Did the offense do enough both this week and two weeks ago at New England to officially call last week's game an injury aided fluke?

My bad that was a 2nd down play. I went back and watched it ( got to love DVR ) and sure enough he lined up offsides. for some reason i swore that was on 1st down but i must have missed the 1st down run when it was live.

Good bounce-back win today. Britt being back definitely made a huge difference. Lockett, Rawls, and KJ all had real impressive games.

We didn't really blitz much and Bennett was still clearly not 100% back. I also thought that Cam did a good job getting rid of the ball to avoid the sack but it clearly affected his throwing at times.

Oh hell ya he was offside. Me and my son said it before they even snapped ball. But before the game started we weren't sure if Bennett was even going to play. When they said he was playing we both said "well, I guess we are guaranteed at least two offside penalties then". One thing you can always count on with MB is he's going to be flagged at least once or twice a game for offsides.

no because they do this every year 2-3 times per year. at least once against the rams, sometimes twice. its happened too many times this year to call it a fluke. dolphins, rams, cards, saints, bucs all complete offensive clunkers. who knows if the offense shows up for the cards and rams rematches either.
