Wrong.

Per the AD. They are in a coaching search.

Wisconsin was in a "coaching search," too. It as actually fairly secretive and they talked to a lot of people. But in actuality, it was Andersen's job from the get-go. He was the first call and the only guy offered the job. Schools will say they have a "coaching search" as insurance if the coach changes his mind, but I really doubt that AD's office suddenly flip-flopped on Pelini without a name in mind. It's not like they didn't know what they had with Bo last year.

Nebraska only owes Pelini $7 million.

A drop in the bucket.

Mich St. DC Narduzzi and Ducks OC Frost have got to be heavy candidates.

the days of that are over for schools like Nebraska, Notre Dame, Michigan, etc. teams will rise and fall from season to season due to the talent pool being spread out and the Midwest not producing the talent it use to. speed has become the name of the game.

No doubt about that, but nothing has really changed in the fans' expectations though. At least, not this one's. :)

I agree with you, Smart.

My point was more or less not to expect an announcement any time soon. The potential coach will probably want to coach their bowl game without any distractions.

They don't have to pay it out in some lump sum. He'll probably take a year off and be paid most of his 2015 salary, but most of these contracts state a lot of that money isn't paid out if he lands another coaching job.

Correct.

$150,000/month for like 50 months.

Nebraska's resources might not be what you think at this point.

LMAOOOOOO

1 of only 3-4 schools in the country that actually turn a profit in their AD.

LSU, PSU, Michigan and maybe one other.

Nebraska can theoretically afford anyone.

DB asked T.O. this morning what happens when an A.D. doesn't have a well thought out plan in place after a decision like this. T.O. responded "You don't survive"..

If OU can afford Stoops, I'm sure the bugeaters can scratch up enough grip to get their man.

Just scratching my head on who the fuck it would be?

For anyone who's wondering, Tom Osborne is completely out of the loop with the university. Zero communication. That's the way he wanted it to be once he left

I wasn't talking specifically about money.
