Certainly a more durable player

Not as durable as you might think.

54 missed games last 4 seasons not counting the playoffs. Highest games played since 2018 is 73.

Cant imagine that gets better next few years.

This is just like the Markenan stuff that was being discussed here locally adnauseum over the summer. Turns out he really was never up for trade.

Because he wasn't traded he was not up for trade? Guessing nearly every player is up for trade for the right offer.

Maybe but they had no real interest in trading Markenan, you can’t tell me there wasn’t interest.

I'm sure they were willing to listen to offers and if one they liked presented itself LM would be elsewhere. Maybe nothing offered they thought was better for them?

Maybe, but I personally think if it was real the offers would have been big.

Maybe....but maybe not what they wanted?
Whatever, there is a difference between a player being on the block and a team just throwing stuff out trying to get some idiotic offer. There are only so many Clippers and Twolves in the league.

If he's got a roster like the Thunder's where he's not carrying the whole team on his shoulders, I think he holds up better?

Then again, matching that salary would sap most of their secondary and depth players and a bunch of draft capital. At closer look, I don't know who they could send; all of their moveable $10M-ish players are guards and would have to be at least a 4 for 1 trade unless Hartenstein is involved.

Yeah…

As good as Giannis is, he isn’t worth all that.

Because JDub is damn good too.

I’ll keep saying it, think about a much more charasmastic (everyone is) version of Kahwi Leonard. That’s not his ceiling either, all in my humble opinion of course.

The further we get from Kahwi's competitive years, the less this comparison is relevant IMO. Almost feels like a bygone era lol...

I think everyone remembers how good he was in his prime.

Giannis salary is only $48M. If they wanted to trade for a superstar that is the one good thing about the gross overpay for Hart. He is $30M. Adding Jalen is obvious in this situation so another $5M. You only need to add one more player from this list of Dort, Joe, Wiggins and Caruso.

So it's a 3 for 1. It would be very worth it right now bc OKC has the depth. Like I said many times, it won't happen but considering Giannis could be labeled as the best player, if not top 3, it gives them a 3-4 year window at least. There is no guarantee Jalen can be that guy ever.
Trade is good for MIL bc they get to see him as a #1 option, he will never hit full growth as a #2 or #3 but is a great fit for OKC + additional assets and picks.
Good for OKC bc Giannis does not have to carry a team. It extends his prime and he can do more of the little things. Over time when he declines, he can even form into a 3rd option. He has skills to expand his post game to a greater extent.

They have a 5 to 6 year window right now, no reason to cut it in half.

Why would the Bucks trade Giannis for a Hartenstein-centric package? They already have multiple centers. The Thunder's willingness to overpay him is not shared by the entire league.

4-5 first round picks would probably help

Unless I misread it, wouldn't the best player in the deal be Jalen Williams? Not sure it's Hartenstein centric just because he's highest paid in proposed deal. But i agree not a piece the Bucks really need that badly.
