I would be thrilled with $15M/year but that seems like the lowest CLE would offer and way lower Sexton was expecting. I'm thinking somewhere in the middle. $18-$19M/year
Yeah, that is Levert money.

Gonna need to add 5 mil per year to that for Sexton.

Scotto: The Cavaliers want to retain Collin Sexton. He’s going to demand starting guard money, I’m told. There are some teams who will be in the market for a point guard this summer, including the New York Knicks and Washington Wizards, who would have to acquire Sexton in a sign-and-trade if they want to get him. Last season, no restricted free agent signed an offer sheet, and players such as Cavaliers forward Lauri Markkanen switched teams via sign-and-trade.

One executive told me, “I think Cleveland will extend a qualifying offer to Sexton and look to match an offer. I don’t see him receiving an offer, but I think Cleveland will use Sexton as a trade asset. I expect them to try and sign him to a deal in the $18-20 million annual range so they can eventually trade him.”

Ivey?

I saw Dyson at #12 or perhaps trying to move up from there using #30.

But, Ivey will be long gone by then.

I'm starting to fear the SG-A rumors have legs.

Tre Mann, Giddey, SG-A and Ivey?

Tre Mann obviously won't be a deterrent.

But, they need bigs in the worst way.

If they pass on Banchero/Jabari/Chet for another guard, that's very telling of their thoughts on Shai..... imo.

Easy to find good bigs at 12

I saw that same article and heard LeVert could be getting $20M too. I think he is the guy most likely to be traded now or the trade deadline

Levert makes near that now.

So, maybe.

If it weren't for his constant injuries, that would be fine.

Despite the rough start in The Land, his offensive talent makes him worth that.

He just isn't very durable.

I have 2 guys like that on my roster.

So, I get it....lol

Hard to evaluate with as many injuries occurred. He never got a chance to find his role on the team but at this point the Cavs can actually do nothing. They don't need to extend him being on an expiring deal. They can see how it works out the first half of the season and then trade him if they don't like the fit with Sexton back.

There’s a rumor okc loves ivey, which makes sense since he’s very Westbrooky

That could cause chaos to the draft
No need to draft him.....we could trade them RW for their #2 pick....

:heh:

Okay, okay.....I'll stop.

Any team offering that for Levert needs to be careful.

Has played in 58, 47, 45, and 40 games the last 4 seasons.

It really isn't a stretch though, I mean look at some players that are making $17M-$22M/year....

Eric Gordon
Tim Hardaway Jr
Aaron Gordon
Eric Bledsoe
Joe Harris
Harrison Barnes
Evan Fournier
Terry Rozier
Danillo Ganillari
Buddy Hield

Scary Terry deserves his contract.

The rest.....yesh.

Gallo is a good comp.

Professional scorer, always broken, still gets 20 mil every place he goes.

Yeah. If anything that list shows why 4/60 is more than fair…or good for the franchise

Sure, LeVert would be overpaid at $20M but so is more than half the league. Just an example that LeVert would still be better than virtually everyone on that list, even with injuries...never said he deserved it though.

But you also said $15M is a good price for Sexton...which is delusional. Nobody his caliber and age is going for $15M and even if the market isn't crazy about him he would get more than that on the market.

There isn’t that much cap space out there

Cavs have all the leverage

You guys do realize levert is the better player right?

I’m really curious to see if sexton can take his game to another level

But I also don’t think he’s being put in the best position to succeed by having to guard 2s defensively

That I could see for Levert.

Neither is worth more right now.

But to be fair, antler 5-6m per year to get both done doesn’t kill their team building

But it’s not optimized
