You guys do realize levert is the better player right?

I’m really curious to see if sexton can take his game to another level

But I also don’t think he’s being put in the best position to succeed by having to guard 2s defensively
Better player than Sexton? They do have similarities and style of play...LeVert brings more promise defensively but better would have to be used specifically to the team, so I guess is he better for the Cavs?
Defensively you could say LeVert is better for the Cavs but the Cavs don't need defense, they need offense. They need the explosive scorer that can score at all facets. Sexton is more explosive and he actually has a 3 ball unlike LeVert. Plus, he is younger so Sexton can improve, LeVert is a finished product and a good one. I just feel Sexton was really starting to improve his vision and his PG skills before he went down...I think that is another facet to his game we haven't seen quite yet, could be wrong.

Neither is worth more right now.

But to be fair, antler 5-6m per year to get both done doesn’t kill their team building

But it’s not optimized
If we are talking about value to the team, Sexton means much more to the Cavs than LeVert...without a doubt. I don't like the idea of having both on the roster though but like you said, they can pay them both and have all the leverage. I just don't think they need to rush on LeVert. Either trade him in the offseason or simply wait to see how the season plays out-then you either extend him or you trade him.

I think the Cavs are trailblazering themselves sticking with two small guards

Guard d is a significant indicator of post season success

I think there are a lot of question marks about their roster. Let say they extend Sexton and keep LeVert for now, who is starting and that puts a lot of pressure on Bickerstaff to use the right lineups where defense of two small guards won't kill them.

LeVert should start but doesn't provide any outside shooting.
Markkannen isn't consistent from outside.

That leaves Garland as the only 3 point threat...not good for long-term success. Then you have bench which would include Sexton, Okoro, Love and other guys.

They just need more shooting. Grabbing a wing in this years draft is very important. I would trade LeVert for a downgrade if it means he can space the floor.

Somebody has to want him though.....and after how he played for the Cavs.....at 20 mill?

Yikes.
After how he played for the Cavs he's worth a lot more than 20 mil. Problem is teams might not be sure he could play that way for them.

There’s a rumor okc loves ivey, which makes sense since he’s very Westbrooky

That could cause chaos to the draft
Not happening unless we trade down

Ivey?

I saw Dyson at #12 or perhaps trying to move up from there using #30.

But, Ivey will be long gone by then.

I'm starting to fear the SG-A rumors have legs.

Tre Mann, Giddey, SG-A and Ivey?

Tre Mann obviously won't be a deterrent.

But, they need bigs in the worst way.

If they pass on Banchero/Jabari/Chet for another guard, that's very telling of their thoughts on Shai..... imo.
Can’t believe anything that comes out right now. The Thunder will take Smith or Holmgren, I’m confident in that.

Better player based on what? Sexton is a better, more efficient shooter/scorer. also younger.

Seriously? Saw him play a few games but 13.6ppg, 4apg, 3,4rpg deserves over 20 mill?

The Trailblazers might have made it work with their guards if they also had Allen, Mobley, LM and Love.

you think those 11 games with a very new roster/teammates matters more than the previous 60 the prior season (or 120 over 2)?

Scotto: One executive told me, “I think Caris LeVert will get around $20.5 million per season on an extension. That’s a little too rich for me, but I believe Cleveland will pay him that if they want to extend him.”

Another executive said, “Caris is interesting due to his injury history. A short-term extension around the number he’s on would be good value.” He’s making about $19 million.

From what I’ve heard, Cleveland would like to keep LeVert. That’s why they traded for him with that intention… I’d surmise that both sides would like to make this (extension) happen at this point.

Keep LeVert and Sexton? At 45 million?

Gotta imagine Sexton will get 25 if LeVert gets 20.

Maybe Schroder can get 20 mill this offseason.....LOL.
Didn't The Lakers give KCP 18 million?

He put up 13, 5 and 2.

Obviously, he's a better defender.

But, Caris shits all over him on offense.

Levert has averaged 18 ppg for the last 5 seasons.

KCP averaged 18ppg..... Well, never.

He also ended up playing a key role in the Lakers winning a title.

His 3 shooting and defense.
