My revised 25:

P - Bum, DRod, Dutch, Shark, Pommy
RP - Bergen, Dyson, MM, Moronta, Smith, Watson, Stratton, Vindette
C - Posey, Rivera
IF - Belt, Panik, Craw, Longo, Panda, Solarte
OF - Parra, Duggar, Mac, Fergie.

Vogt goes to DL to start the year.

I'm also expecting a trade or two, so the OF mix will probably be different.

Hey don't pick on the outfield, the infield is just as shitty LOL

Don't forget Posey who will never have a season as good as 2012 again
But, but, his hip is fixed!!

What is it about Venditte that makes you think he makes the team? He hasn't pitched that well and he has options.

I'm thinking flexibility. However, to your point -- he is the last man in the bully.

I thought Gott is getting the inside track on that spot. Or they could go with both Blach and Stratton and carry two long relievers, so they could have "openers".

I am hearing enough buzz about MM that I am officially taking him off my opening 25...

SP: Bum, Sammy, DRod, Dutch, PomPom
RP: Smith, Watson, Moronta, Bergen, Dyson, Stratton, Gott, Vincent
C: Posey, Rivera
Inf: Belt, Panik, Crawford, Longoria, Sandoval, Solarte
OF: Mac, Dugger, Parra, Ferguson

Vincent, Rivera, Solarte and Parra all need roster spots. I suspect MM will be gone, either by DFA or by trade. Okert and Hanson are easy DFAs. The last roster casualty is tougher to determine. Jones? Avelino? Valera? Venditti? Coonrod? Black?

It has been hinted at on KNBR all weekend. At least through subtext.
Interesting. Zaidi is definitely from an organization that had no qualms just tossing aside players on bloated contracts. The key, I think, is him being able to sell the idea as a valid one to ownership. There needs to be buy-in for him to get that green light.
I don't know what to think about the idea, myself. He has not looked good in spring and has been rather mediocre in his two years with the team. However, most of those have been injury plagued. I think I'd rather see him given one more chance this year. Don't put him in the closer's role but maybe have him work out of the 6th or 7th innings and see how he responds in season. A disastrous first month and, sure, let him go. I'm just not sure I'm sold on him being gone now.

Kruk talked about him today on KNBR. He says he's out of whack mechanically and needs to get back into sound mechanics so that he gets late break on his slider. It'd be a ton of salary to eat, but FZ has no problem eating salary -- especially for a guy he didn't sign. I doubt we can trade him, but maybe we don't have to eat ALL of the money.

I too think he's gone.

Maybin, MM, Fergie, Hanson, Okert.
Maybin isn’t on any rosters that need slots (he is an NRI). But I forgot you didn’t have Ferguson making the team, and his only “option” is getting waived and then offered back to Houston...

I'd probably keep MM over Stratton because I think he'd get through waivers. MM's contract is dead-weight at this point, you're not getting any of that back. So if you toss out the money, Melancon is probably still a better short-term pitcher than Stratton. His numbers were okay last year.

I'd be surprised if Gott isn't on the team. He's flawless this spring...

I doubt Joyce affects the opening 25...

Locks - Mac, Parra, Dugger

Maybin and Ferguson are battling for #4 since they both play center. Unless they decide to go with a 7-man bully, I don’t see them going with 5 OFers. And I don’t see that happening.

I think it's an 8 man bully. And I think the 4th outfielder isn't on the team yet.
