Matchups.

My point is that the matchup at the time could work for a few games in 1 team's favor ... even if it doesn't really make sense. And it doesn't mean it will work long-term. Also -- it may mean using your "superstars" in a different way. (including sitting the bench sometime ... and yes, Blake ... I'm looking at you)

Simmons had a good podcast this week where someone was surprised that the Spurs showed a specific defense (switching everything) vs. the Warriors during the season. (instead ... don't use it until the playoffs) Since then, other teams have been doing it -- which helps the Ws play against it. That is an example where something may work temporarily -- that doesn't mean it is a plan that works every time against a good team.

I won't look into it too much as I doubt SJ is in Lebron's head that much. But he probably is starting to agitate Lebron. Unfortunately for Johnson, the rest of his team doesn't have his attitude. The Pistons defense has been pathetic.

I'm so glad from what I've seen that he didn't end up being our pick last summer.

I love Stanley and think his team needs the attitude he's trying to bring to the series.

That said... some of what he said was really cringey. Like saying he is in LeBron's head. Uh... the guy whose head you're in just went 12-17 from the field for 27 points. Saying LeBron was taking cheap shots on him.

These are things that rookies don't say about veteran superstars. Then again, that's part of the reason we love Stanley.
