I did, started talking about it years ago.
Yep. I always thought he got too much credit for the team's success. I mean, we had one of the greatest defenses of all time and a HOF running back. And since he hooked up with Ciara and went Hollywood, he just doesn't have the same focus and intensity that he used to have.

I can tell you exactly how I pretty much feel the season will go. I think it will be similar to 2011 when we had Tavaris Jackson at QB where we ran the ball 400x that season. We will probably win around 7 games and we will lose games due to the offense not putting up points but this is the territory. I dont think we will be the worst team in the league and to be honest I dont think Denver will be all that great either they might make the playoffs but I dont see them as a better team than us when we had RW.

The Broncos success will come down to their defense. If it is as bad as Seahawks defense has been the past 4 or so years, then the Broncos will do no better than the Seahawks.

That's good for us if the Broncos fade.

Yeah I am crossing my fingers that with a stacked AFC that the broncos will miss the playoffs even with a winning record getting 2 basically top 10 picks even a solid 2nd round pick would make this trade a good trade.

I think a lot of Hawk fans are convincing themselves that everything is going to work out perfectly for the team. Seems unlikely but we will see

I dont think it is a whole lot to think that the hawks could win 7 games and the Broncos not winning the division.

Optimism my friend.....

The ones who think the Broncos are going to come in last in their division next year and the Hawks are going to wind up with Bryce Young or CJ Stroud and all of our rookies are going to be really good.

we get to find out conclusively if pete and john were good, or just lucky.

And others are assuming Russ will just step right into a new team in a stacked division and leave all of his own self-inflicted issues back in Seattle.

The reality is somewhere in the middle, but it's undeniable that it's best for us if they end up between 9 and 11 wins, and will have to be one of the best 3 teams in the league to get 12+. I see 6, maybe 7 games you can pencil in a win for them right now. Split the rest and that's 11. 6 tough games in division, plus Colts, 9ers, Rams, and Titans, who could all put up tough games, especially if their run D isn't elite.

Who is saying this?

The Hawks could win 7 and the Broncos 11 and we could still end up with the best QB in the draft, with 2 1sts and 2 2nds to use to move up.

I was going 5-12 but decided on 7 wins because I think we are probably 6 or 7 days away from signing Jimmy G. And while he's not a world beater or anything close, I think he's markedly better than what we have now. I can see him starting by week 3 or 4, and we'll probably be winless at that point but Garropolo is talented enough to be able to generate offense on a consistent basis with our WR & RB talent. Maybe we're 1-3 to start but then a .500 type team emerging after that with a better QB than what we'll open with.

Russ would have stayed if they got rid of Pete. Jodi chose Pete.
I 100% believe this. Saying "Russ was the one who wanted to leave" is disingenuous IMO. Looking at it that way ignores all of the other relevant aspects of the situation. Russ only wanted to leave when it became apparent that Pete was going to stay. At that point, I cannot blame him a bit for no longer wanting to sit here and rot in a 1964 style offense without the defense needed to make it work and be a contender.

Many here who worship RW refuse to accept that back yard football has it's limitations and they also refuse to recognize RW mobility has decreased noticeably. RW goal was to win and I doubt that he saw a rookie HC or some other retread as the answer to turn the team around and RW was to old to go through the process of restocking the team which normally is a slow process. From all accounts Pete and RW actually had a warm relationship other then the state of the roster which was in need of major influx of talent.

100%.

If Pete still had this great defense that made it so the offense should play safe, then ok.

But we have had a bad defense for several years. They set an NFL record for most plays allowed last year. Yes, I know it was the first 17 game season but it was still pretty terrible.

Pete refuses to adapt his system.

the issue here is since 2016 he was a top 5 pocket QB, they showed that stat last season. He just didn't like to throw that 0-10 yard over the middle dump off passes. Teams left it wide open and dropped the linebackers deeper in passing and played a umbrella coverage. This would some times completely shut down his game. Matter of fact there was like 4 seasons where Wilsons passing numbers were better inside the pocket than outside. He can be a fine pocket passer he just can't throw over the middle short to medium area either because he doesn't want to or can't see it. Lets see if he does it more in Denver. Wilson likes the numbers and outside the numbers area.

it was last year or the year before when they brought this up and he had like a 110 Rating from inside the pocket and a 98.... something outside the pocket. Someone help me out on this if they remember it was before the let Russ cook stuff.

My god what a typo i made haha

Mayfield would have been a HUGE upgrade over our QB's but meh it is what it is, looks like we are in a race for the #1 pick. I do not want that #1 unless we use it to trade back for more picks and a lot of them.

2013 - 104.7
2015 - 118.6
2020- 109.6

I cannot confirm nor deny the numbers thrown around in the links, but I do remember him being very highly rated in the pocket despite everyone thinking he was only a running QB.
